Excerpt: I bought my a3000 to use with my collection of classic MF lenses (Konica AR, Canon FD and Jupiter 8). I had been considering the smaller NEX bodies but I am happier with how the a3000 body provides a more secure grip, especially when using older heavy metal and glass lenses. The results and ease of use are incredible. The focus peaking and magnification features are especially helpfull and I couldn't be more pleased with my decision.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, High ISO Performance
Summary: There are a lot of different options with buying a SLR interchangeable lens camera. I would call this an advanced starter camera. For the price, the quality and the the potential options you really can't go wrong.
Excerpt: I purchased this camera recently as a replacement for my Alpha 100 which is dying a slow but certain death. I wasn't sure that I made the correct purchase when I ordered the camera since I did it on the spur of the moment in order to get a rebate being offered. I was quite surprised when the camera arrived right on schedule from BH Photo ( free shipping). I thought I was down sizing to a degree but this was only true in the size of the compactness of the camera.
Excerpt: I bought this camera with the kit lens when it was first introduced, I wanted an NEX mount to use strictly with my legacy lenses. I have nothing but good things to say about this camera especially since I have never been a Sony fan, the kit lens was a pleasant surprise and focus peeking with legacies is perfect, the pics are sharp with good color. Contrary to popular criticism about the EVF and 230K screen I find them quite adequate. Now I'm gunning for a 7R.
