Summary: I have owned two other 35mm cameras from Minolta, and wanted a digital camera from Sony. So far so good; no problems other than the battery has a short life. It drained completely when we were up in the mountains camping. No outlets anywhere, of course. Couldn't recharge it.
Summary: This was my first dslr and it was fantastic, very durable (it has taken quite a few hits and splashes) great image quality, very light, and fits the hand like a glove. And its innovations are only now being taken up by larger players (Canon and Nikon) and that's what i think Sony is great for.
Would recommend to anyone that is looking for nice DSLR

Summary: I purchased this model of camera used in like new condition (practically stole it) as a gift for my wife who is inexperienced in photograhy and I felt this would be a good start up DSLR for her to learn with.
Excerpt: This camera comes with on-screen helps to remind beginners what all the bells & whistles do. Many functions are buried in the menu (white balance, focusing & metering methods, ISO), but you learn to navigate them fast.
Good value for the price, This is more than just an entry level camera.

Summary: I bought this camera to take advantage of my collection of Minolta AF lenses. I have used it now for two days and have taken 200+ test pics. using various lenses. I am very pleased with the quality of the photos.
Summary: [Updated: see bottom] I purchased this camera after reading so many positive reviews, but I have to say I'm somewhat disappointed and unimpressed. I am not a professional photographer by any means, or even a talented amateur.
Summary: I decided to buy this camera because I would start in the DSLR world and therefore by design, size, portability and price I think I have hit. Its intuitive menus, ergonomics and light weight make it a good choice if you're looking to move from compact to DSLR world without seeking a professional...
