The # 1 worst camera I have ever ownned in my life.
17 September 2011
Summary: Absolutely the worst camera I have ever owned in my life. First of all, it takes forever sometimes to take a picture, you click the button and wait and wait, then finally - flash. By that time, the object is long gone. The video is the worst, the zoom makes so much noise, it totally blocks out the entire video's sound. If this is someone's first camera, then that would be very discouraging and that person will probably never buy another camera again.
Summary: The WB710/WB700 is a well designed camera from the start. From the moment it's switched on, the software is very intuitive and easy on the eye, possibly more so than Canon and Nikon. Image quality is pleasing, and I use Aperture Priority, but I haven't experienced the problems the other user has of annoying messages in Auto mode, I'd recommend a reset to factory settings perhaps. The lens is equivalent to 24-432mm, astonishing in such a tiny body.
Summary: Could be an excellent little camera and in fairness I have had great use from it but it has some unforgivable flaws Pros: - Great zoom - Pretty good quality images for size of camera (see cons for lense size) - Generally fairly straightforward to use (except for Smart Auto! see below) - Not bad in low light Cons - Rear display scratched very quickly becoming almost unusable in bright light - 720p HD video is a bit of a disappointment - Battery lasts well, then drops one...
Summary: Overall this is a good camera and is easy to use, that was until I went to the Air Show at RAF Leuchars and found it to be useless. The screen is impossible to see in bright sunlight and the end result was a series of photo's of the sky or if I was lucky, the odd tail of an aircraft!! I won't be taking it with me to any future sporting events.
Summary: The WB700 is a superb compact camera. Very sharp photos in all modes and packed with so many features. I found it to be perfect when I am out and about and it where is impractical to take my heavy Canon 5D with me. I would recommend this Samsung to anyone.
Summary: Good camera takes good pictures bit smaller than I thought it would be slightly girlie! no view finder which is a shame but then I new that when I ordered it, lot easier to steady a camera with a long lens when your using your body as a tripod!
Summary: I had the previous version of this camera, the WB600; unfortunately it had an accident involving the wrong charger lead which destroyed the camera beyond economic repair. I had been very pleased with it so had no hesitation in replacing it with the upgraded model. The 700 has a slightly higher spec: more pixels and greater zoom range but it appears to pushing the limits a bit too far.
