Doesn't work with Win 8

Gordon S. Ferris, Amazon
21 December 2013
  • Summary: I read all the specs. before ordering this camera. The software doesn't work with win 8. I just finished a chat with a Samsung rep. The software called Intilli-stuido isn't compatible with win 8. Without the software it's not possible to upgrade the firmware on the camera. However the camera can be used as a plug and play. You don't need a special driver download. I haven't used to camera for any photos yet. I do have it set up.

It won't zoom

Jane Brouse, Amazon
26 October 2013
  • Summary: Hugely disappointed. Used it only a couple of times and the zoom won't open. It was taking great pictures up until then. I am really upset by this. I use my cameras a lot. Now I have to figure out where to go to get it fixed!!

Poor quality

E, Amazon
3 June 2013
  • Summary: Great service as always from Amazon's end, but this is the most frustrating camera I have every owned. Camera constantly freezes in the middle of taking photos. Pros: Tons of features for price point. Cons: Poor quality. Unreliable photos.

  • Summary: This camera would be ideal if only there was not as long of a delay after you snap the shot till when it clicks. Perhaps better for a beginner. Nice features though.

  • Summary: I mainly bought this camera for the zoom and was very disappointed. It was grainy on the 18x optical zoom. The button was hard to push which caused a blurry picture. Not impressed and will be returning.

  • Summary: I like how it takes some pics, but the focus was the worst i have seen with any camera i have owned. I did many comparison pictures with this camera and my panasonic lumix sz8 camera that has dust or something under the lens and that camera focuses so well compared to the Samsung camera and it was REALLY frustrating. i held the shutter button down for awhile just to see a red or orange box instead of a green one and i just got so mad.

Picture quality is terrible

ranndino "ranndino", Amazon
4 September 2012
  • Summary: Looks very nice and has a sturdy body. Having a mega zoom is great, but extremely disappointed with picture quality. My smartphone takes far better pictures. WiFi connectivity is also great, but for some reason the amount of pictures you can send is very limited which completely defeats the purpose of having it. The picture quality is the main reason I'm sending it back though.

  • Summary: Although Samsung's website description for this camera gives you system requirements for a Mac, their software does not work on Macs (which they don't tell you anywhere). So you cannot use the wifi uploading feature to wirelessly upload your photos to your computer. Trying to even get the camera connected to any wifi is a task in itself.
