A really nice compact camcorder

M. Crawford, Amazon
19 June 2011
  • Summary: I bought this mainly to take pictures and found the camcorder of a really good quality sound and picture. Only downfall is there is no flash. But for what I paid, I'm quite pleased with my purchase. Another thing, you need to register it online for the year guarantee, which I haven't down yet but this should have come with the camcorder for convenience?

Samsung HD Camcorder

Amazon
18 November 2010
  • Summary: The camera advertises about the HD video, but the only problem is you can clearly see all of the pixels and when you zoom in on the HD mode it loses the good quality. It plays back fine when on the camera, but stops and starts a lot whilst playing it on my laptop. The still image, you have to keep it very still or the image will turn into just a blur. Overall I think it's a good camera, especially for the price I got it for, £54.99.

Sleek and simple to use

Going Traditional, Amazon
16 February 2010
  • Summary: Beautiful to look at, sleek in design and weighs about the same as a mobile phone. Very easy to use but absolutely hopeless in artificial light -unless it's extremely bright. Also, you need an extremely fast SDHC card to make best use of the High Definition; I ended up buying the Sandisk Extreme 8 GB memory card which transfers 20 MB per second (so handles HD pretty well).

Samsung U10

Mr. K. Payne, Amazon
5 February 2010
  • Summary: This camera was bought for my wife who found it very easy to use without reference to the user manual. As this is not only a camcorder and a still camera it could have benefitted with having a flash facility.

Good value per se. But files hard to edit.

MacAvity, Amazon
14 January 2010
  • Summary: It might not be an issue for most people. But editing the files produced by this camcorder in an NLE application might prove difficult. The most successful NLE I have used so far is Serif's MoviePlus X3. But it won't render the U10's highest res files out to 1920x1080 MP4s or even 1440x1080 MP4s. Sony's Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0b does this okay. But if the files are longer than about five minutes the program crashes for no apparent reason.

  • Summary: High Definition in H.264 works perfect, but a HDMI exit is missing to make it perfect.

Light & Compact Camcorder - Good in parts! :¬)

Uncle Barbar, Amazon
7 November 2009
  • Summary: Samsung U10 High Definition Camcorder The size and weight of this new HD camcorder along with its ease-of-use is where this new camcorder really wins out. It is a miniscule 56mm (2.2in) x 103mm (4in) x 15.5mm (0.6in) and weighs just 95g (with battery). It fits into your pocket or bag very easily, without realising it is there - this makes it very portable.
