Summary: No stranger to the Point & Shoot camera arena. Handled P&S's from Nikon, Canon, Polaroid, Panasonic, Pentax, Vivitar, and Argus. Recieved the teal version of this model late xmas of 2009. So far my camera still works fine with no major issues. Only thing that's no more is the black paint on the bayonet ring, and the mid-section of the camera. Likes of the product: Less image noise, or none in most settings. Macro-mode very noticable detail in close objects.
Summary: I bought a blue Samsung SL202 for amateur photography. I have had this camera for about 4 years, and it has served me well. It's great for action shots AND still shots. Very high quality and satisfying for the price. It's great for amateur photography or just pictures. It has fair zoom and maybe 10 minutes on video. Not ideal for those looking to have good video on the camera.
Pros: Clear pictures, good for action shots and a lot of effects my new Nikon doesn't have. Many different settings and easy-to-use. It's a hardy camera with a not-to-bright flash. Small and lightweight. Fairly quick to take a picture and the camera certainly is great for the price. It has a timer, effects, crop, zoom, video, and much more. It also has good battery life.
Cons: Not great video, becomes blurry without flash,, and not good settings for snow. This camera sometimes has trouble turning on and it only came with a charger to plug into my laptop. The charger cord was short.
Summary: By far THE best digital camera I've ever used for taking pictures of my kids. I LOVE the "children" setting- you can take STUNNING pictures regardless of whether or not your little wiggle worm is wiggling. Fantastic. :) It has all the "pro" settings- and it's EASY to use. You will look like a professional photog with this camera- you can adjust lighting, flash, you can even adjust/edit after you've snapped the picture. This is my second purchase of this camera.
