Summary: Very impressive for the time! I purchased this camera nearly 5 years ago and it was still going strong up until it was stolen from my house in early 2012. This is a very sable point and who camera with good quality images. Easy to use, and easy to upload.
Summary: This is a wonderful camera. Purchased it from Sears. Actually, I ordered a different camera, and because it was backordered, Sears offered me this camera instead, which was better quality (more bells and whistles) than the one I ordered. I noticed right away that the batteries would run out quickly.
Summary: My experience over the last couple of years seems to jibe with what other reviewers have said. The first unit I got stopped functioning properly after a couple of weeks. I forget the exact problem, but I took it back to the retailer (K-Mart) and they provided a new one. This has worked fine.
About what you'd expect for the price and technology

Summary: I recently got this Samsung to replace an aging 1st-generation Nikon Coolpix 990 (3.43 megapixel, circa '99 or so). I got it before the price drop, so with a 2GB card was about $170. I'm not going to repeat the notes from other reviewers.
Summary: I've had this camera for a couple years now. My mother-in-law gave it to me for Chanukah after my daughter was born. It's a pretty good camera, the pictures are clear and the video function is really nice. The problem for me, is that it's slow, and it stops if there's any movement.
Summary: This is a very good camera. WHEN IT WORKS!! The thing will freeze and eat up all the life of the batteries. However... when it works it is a wonderful camera. It works very well and takes great photos. It's very fun because you can add stickers. DO NOT TAKE VIDEOS.
Summary: I have had this camera for almost a year. I have not experienced the freezing the other reviewers discussed. However, it does not mean I have not had problems. I wouldn't call it freezing, but if my camera has been off for a while and I try to take a picture, it takes forever for the first shot.
Conclusion: For what you pay, it's worth the money. I also experienced the common battery problem. After 7 shots, the batteries that came with the camera were toast. Luckily...I purchased the energizer digital camera batteries....and have taken about 50 pics so far. Batteries are still full.
Summary: I bought this camera because it has a feature to manually set shutter speed and aperture, and that works great. And overall this camera is high quality and a good value. But battery life is too short, compared to competitors I have tried.
