Unusable EVF, faulty AF, expensive

uzevla, Adorama
30 October 2014
  • Excerpt: EVF is quite small (compared to e.g. similarly priced Olympus E-m10 and likes). Also, diopter adjuster just can't help me get the sharp picture (I need 0 and it works perfectly on every other camera I had). In fact, even the numbers shown in EVF are not sharp. On top of this, neither it adds gain or increases the fps in low light which makes it really hard to see the image. Don't remember the gain and refresh rate in Nex6 but certainly it's got much better EVF.
  • Pros: Fast Shutter Speed
  • Cons: No Viewfinder, Poor Image Quality, Poor in Low Light, Short Battery Life

External Mic hiss when recording Video

Camera Guy, B&H Photo
30 October 2014
  • Excerpt: If you plan to use the external 3.5mm mic jack for any reason, DO NOT PURCHASE this camera. There is a loud hissing sound on videos recorded with this camera whenever an external mic is used and connected through the 3.5mm jack. You can search for this issue on YouTube and hear for yourself.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Great Resolution, Small / Compact

Awesome Camera at a Great Price!

buy12103030, Ebay
6 October 2014
  • Summary: I bought this for my daughter's birthday gift. She did all the research and decided that this was the best camera for her. She absolutely loves it. It's such a nice fit in the hand. The viewfinder is a good size. She likes being able to take several shots fast, one right after the other. It shoots great video too. She has only had it for a few weeks and has mastered the basic functions, so it must be very user friendly too.

Connected over respected...

ELW, B&H Photo
16 September 2014
  • Excerpt: Churned through many cameras since getting in to digital interchangeable lens cameras 2 years ago (Olympus E-PL5, traded for an E-P5, then a Nikon D3300 along side a Samsung NX300 and many, many lenses). All were able to capture images to my satisfaction, but the NX300 stood above with features for money and where ancillary functionality came in to play. Bought mainly on price and sensor size to fill a need for a portable camera surprisingly it became my go to camera.

Not bad but with strange lockups

Amazon
8 September 2014
  • Summary: Was looking for a mirrorless APS-C with a fully articulating LCD. Tried a smaller sensor Samsung TL500 before and was amazed by the IQ considering the sensor size and how clean you can post-processed somewhat big out of camera JPEGs and RAWs. Would have kept it, if not for long write time (makes it unoperational) and delayed focusing in lower light (it did get a perfect focus in the end but due to the unpredictable lag you never knew what exactly you were getting in the...

Samsung - the next BIG NAME in photography?

Amazon
22 August 2014
  • Summary: As a filmmaker/photographer who has used a variety of cameras and regularly produces content online, this camera is one of the best I have used! I actually came across this camera through Samsung's #DitchTheDSLR event that was host in Times Square a few months back and having spent sometime with this camera - it really does deliver in performance. One of my favorite things about the NX30 is its size.

Better Than Mid-Range DSLR Competitors That Are More Expensive

Amazon
9 August 2014
  • Summary: What makes the Samsung NX-30 unique, if you didn't know already, is that it is a mirrorless camera. In the NX-30's price range are mid-range DSLR cameras (the ubiquitous interchangeable lenses, beefy 'shelf candy' that you see in many electronics stores, like the T5i and Nikon varities)that use a mirror to redirect light to a sensor. The NX-30 does not use a mirror and instead directs the light directly to the sensor.

A very versatile and user-friendly camera, that hits the "sweet spot" for the needs of both serious amateur and professional

Nathan Andersen "Gadget lover and author of S..., Amazon
26 July 2014
  • Summary: My first digital camera was a little pocket point and click, that took decent pictures and was easy to use, but now I get better shots with my phone. I upgraded to a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX7, which offered much more manual control and the capacity to shoot in RAW, which meant I could do a lot more to adjust photos after the fact.
