Samsung NX11 review

Amateur Photographer
3 April 2014
  • Summary: Built like a miniature DSLR, the Samsung NX11 compact system camera (CSC) feels and handles like a ‘proper’ camera, and as such it will appeal to enthusiast photographers and those not quite ready to make the jump from a compact to a DSLR. The image quality is good, with the camera capable of resolving a lot of detail, although when shooting JPEG files the noise reduction can be a little strong as the sensitivity settings increase.

Samsung NX11 review: A small camera with a digital SLR-sized sensor and functions

Good Gear Guide.au
23 October 2011
  • Summary: The NX11 is small and capable of producing very good images thanks to its relatively big sensor. With a built-in EVF and flash, it's one of the better value interchangeable lens camera on the Australian market.
  • Pros: Compact size, Very good image quality, Relatively good value
  • Cons: High ISO performance not great, Focus a little hit and miss, EVF could be better

  • Excerpt: The only issue with the Samsung NX11's NX mount is that it's still fairly new and is only currently supported by five NX-series lenses, which may restrict you if you plan to expand the system in the short term, The 18-55mm lens does offer the same 27-82.5mm 35mm focal length to the D3100 and K-r, though. The ISO range spans from 100-3200 with no room for expansion and because it's a CSC the autofocus system it uses is the Contrast-Detect type.

Samsung NX11 review

Digital Arts
14 July 2011
  • Excerpt: The 14.6-megapixel NX11 resembles a shrunken digital SLR with a depth roughly half that of an entry-level model. This is down to the fact that, as with competitors like the Olympus Pen, Panasonic GF or Sony NEX series, the NX11 omits the standard mirror mechanism.
  • Pros: Compact proportions; clear AMOLED screen; eye sensor for switching between screen and EVF; iFunction control via lens; fair value
  • Cons: Narrow handgrip; not Full HD video; mono sound; mic picks up operational noise

  • Summary: A modest upgrade to the NX10 with a redesigned grip and support for i-Function lenses.Samsung's mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera line-up now consists of four models: the original NX10, the NX5, NX100 and the new NX11. The NX11features a re-designed hand grip and adds a new panoramic shooting mode plus 1:1 and 16:9 aspect ratios for still capture and support for the company's i-Function lenses (introduced with the NX100).
  • Pros: You want a compact SLR-like, interchangeable-lens digital camera that represents good value for money., You'd like an easy-to-use control suite., You require a built-in flash plus the ability to accept external flash units., You'd like to be able to shoot high-resolution still pictures plus HD video clips., You want adequate battery life.
  • Cons: You require fast autofocusing for all shooting conditions., You require a wide range of interchangeable lenses. IMATEST GRAPHS JPEG image files

Samsung NX11

  • Conclusion: Samsung NX11 to zdecydowanie dobry aparat, godny polecenia dla tych, którzy pragną czegoś więcej niż oferują kompakty, lecz jednocześnie wolą coś drobniejszego i mniej zobowiązującego od lustrzanki . Nowy produkt koreańskiego koncernu dysponuje wszystkimi elementami oraz funkcjami, których wymagać może zaawansowany użytkownik, pragnący mieć dużą kontrolę nad rejestrowanym obrazem.
  • Cons: działanie autofokusa w słabym oświetleniu, małe, nieergonomiczne przyciski, silna ingerencja w pliki JPEG, w tym agresywna, niemożliwa do wyłączenia redukcja szumu
