Feature-Rich Samsung Prosumer Cam Turns Heads

Wired
2 June 2011
  • Excerpt: The 14-megapixel NX100 may not be a digital SLR, but it does use a DSLR-worthy sensor. This EVIL camera is the latest mirrorless model to break away from the Micro Four Thirds imaging chip format and plug an APS-C CMOS sensor into a small body. Though the result isn’t as petite as Sony’s latest NEX shooters, which also use APS-C sensors, this is a pretty nifty looking compact, with a sleek, ergonomic body and impressive picture-taking abilities The NX100 bears a passing...
  • Pros: Stylish, ergonomic design. Friendly interface and i-Function button on kit lens mean you don’t need to read the manual. Fun built-in filters.
  • Cons: Kit lens is not particularly sharp. Slow shot-to-shot transition. Serious, wobbly rolling-shutter when panning quickly in HD mode. Image noise at higher ISOs. Lack of a rubberized handgrip means it’s easy to drop.

Digital Photo Samsung NX100

  • Excerpt: (1 items) The Samsung NX100 is an innovative camera, but not always a practical one. The compact interchangeable lens camera has a handsome and slim body, but you should hang on to it carefully because it doesn’t include a textured grip. Inside is a large APS-C image sensor that captures 14.6-megapixels of resolution. This means that you get the same sized sensor as in many standard DSLRs, but in a smaller overall package.
  • Pros: iFunction Ring handy for quick settings, Smart Exposure mode is fun and relatively useful, Very good image quality up to ISO 1600, Large APS-C sensor in a slim camera body, Clear menu system is generally easy to navigate, Competitive pricing for a CILC
  • Cons: No pop-up flash, Slippery grip, Noisy lens focusing, Lacks built-in stabilization with kit lens, 30-75mm zoom range of kit lens not wide enough, Lacks dedicated video recording button

Samsung NX100 Review

Digital Photography School

  • Excerpt: I know it’s not that important, but I feel this category of camera needs a name. How about MILC? Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Camera. Along with models from Olympus, Panasonic and Sony these radical MILCs have attracted many followers, willing to forgo a turret viewfinder so that the camera’s form factor and weight can be shrunk, along with partnered lenses.

Samsung NX100 review

Stuff.tv
16 December 2010
  • Summary: Compact, retro-styled, powerful and toting a clever lens that promises to make your snapping experience a breeze – could the Samsung NX100 be the compact system camera to wean you off your DSLR? In short, not really. The NX100 is another mirrorless snapper that promises DSLR-rivalling performance in a small body – but, for a number of reasons, it hasn’t captured our hearts.

Samsung NX100 review

Pocket Lint
23 November 2010
  • Excerpt: Samsung’s latest NX100 is something of a curiosity: with no built in flash or viewfinder, it’s entirely dependent on a low price point and the company’s latest i-Function lenses to sell itself. Is the NX100 a step forward or two steps back for the NX-series?
  • Pros: Improved AF, affordable price point, great menu system, iFn lenses
  • Cons: No flash, no viewfinder, it is rather big, poor battery life

Cámara digital Samsung NX100

parentesis.com
25 August 2011
