Excerpt: I've had this NX10 for a few months now and I am very satisfied, and surprised by its capabilities. Before having it I was using standard DSLRs such as 550Ds and 40Ds. Initially the NX10 was a camera without much of a raison d'etre, costing as much as the average low-mid end DSLR, however, now it seems that this camera (and its NX100) counterpart cost as much as comapcts, but offer DSLR performance. This is just one of the advantages of the NX system.
Excerpt: Picture Quality: Terrific frankly, nice clean shots up to ISO800 suitable for your big enlargements, a little bit noisier at 1600 but still fine for 8x10s or more, 3200 maybe for emergencies only - there's a NR function you can switch on that kicks in at 3200, but if you want to get technical best thing apparantly is to shoot in RAW at 1600 and above and process to your own NR taste rather than relying on the jpeg output.
Excerpt: Finally decided to splurge and bought my very own dSLR. My Canon IXUS camera is still working perfectly but I envy most of my friends who posted pictures that are professional looking and I myself am a confessed model wannabe and a frustrated photographer. I’ve been eyeing a lot of dSLR but haven’t had the budget that time. Now, after saving up and controlling my urges of shopping paycheck after paycheck, I finally fulfilled my dream. I bought the new Samsung NX10.
Summary: The ease of changing from live view to viewfinder is great. esp.since you can film videos through the viewfinder live histogram shows all the effects you can make by a slight movement or setting electronic viewfinder is good and bright and sharp enough to check focus
Pros: Easy select of view modes, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Zoom, Live histogram rocks, Pause for movies, Preview of filter setting, Shoot movies through view, Short Lag Time
Summary: I bought this camera about a year ago, as I wanted something with better image quality than a compact digital, but not quite as complicated as a big SLR - this was the perfect compromise. I love it! Yes, it's a little bulky and I didn't take it on my most recent holiday (Disneyland Florida), mostly due to the fact that I didn't want to carry it around the parks all day and have to keep checking it into lockers when I went on rides.
Pros: Fantastic image quality, smaller than a normal SLR
Cons: Bigger than a compact digital, but that's why you bought it in the first place presumably?
Summary: Video is not that great, but most photographers purchase these types of cameras for shooting stills anyway. Get a dedicated video camera for videos. Excellent image quality and metering. Fast autofocus, especially with most recent Firmware upgrade (v 1.25). ISO 1600 and faster gets noisy. Try to stay with max ISO 800 unless you're sticking to small 4x6 prints.
Pros: great image qualities, easy to adjust settings, can customize in camera sharpening and color
Summary: I have owned an NX10 for about 1 day now and have been very impressed so far. The first noticable feature is the AMOLED screen - it's beautiful! It has amazing colour and an excellent viewing angle. Also, the size of the camera is great. I was very worried it might be too small to manage, especially with the lenses attatched, however this is not the case.
Pros: Compact, Smart mode is great, interface is beautiful and easily managable, faboulous AMOLED screen, adequately priced!
Cons: EVF is a little small, some features are locked in different modes
Summary: GREAT SLR BETTER THAN D300, NEX5, 550D SINCE I HAVE ALL OF THEM. THE GREATEST CAM I HAVE USED SO FAR IT IS A GREAT CAM FOR THE PRICE OF $500 AT HARVEY'S LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT
Pros: I LOVE IT ITS AMOLED SCREEN IS GREAT THE MENU IS SUPERB AND THE DESIGN IS SLEEK
