Summary: Bought one of these in 2007 and haven't regretted it in the least. Easy to use, very well built, totally reliable (so far) and actually looks like a proper camera rather than a toy, with proper optics. The filter thread is 43mm which is fairly unusual and it can eat batteries somewhat but the only real downside is that it will not operate with SDHC cards - it was designed before this card format came to market and is incompatible with them: other than that I've been...
Summary: I was bought this camera as a gift for christmas, and I am totally over the moon with it....I love photographs and think they are the ideal way to capture history and special memories, but in the past I have had the cheaper variety of camera, which always seems plastic and cheap. The Samsung is definately not that, you feel as if your holding a good sturdy camera even though it is very compact. It is going everywhere with me and I am so enjoying learning how to use it.
Summary: After reading some rave reviews on the NV5 I decided to take the plunge and buy it. The cameras good theres no denying it and the extra zooms nice (though you pay the price with the lens size. The build as already mentioned in other reviews is first class and the camera feels incredibly sturdy and simple to work. i'd buy the camera again but it's just n quite as good as it could be and as a result I have only given it four stars.
Excerpt: This particular camera sits in the middle of the NV series by Samsung, though the NV3 and NV7 are more well known then this particular model. However, I happen to think that this particular model is perhaps undeservingly overlooked. The resolution is 7.2MP, so it can certainly match a large selection of cameras on offer in the same price bracket for quality. You can adjust that to a lower setting if you do not want to use up too much memory per photo.
Pros: Good quality resolution, price, zoom lens, build quality
Cons: Large and bulky lens makes it tricky to carry .
Summary: Picture quality far better than sony atleast I have used sony and casio earlier but pic quality of samsung is far better than others sony has better battery life but it doesnt mean samsung has bad the only thing i didnt like with this NV5 is the shape but if u are looking for 7 X optical zoom at this price u cant really complain
Summary: Received the item today (ordered 13th) and am delighted. The camera has a fantastic interface, very easy to use once you're accustomed to it. Very high quality photos, incredibly fast with little delay between taking them. I'm also pleasantly surprised at how customisable the camera is - for a compact it sports many features which you'd be more likely to find on an SLR.
Summary: I already own the Samsung NV3 which is a great little camera, but I wanted something with a good zoom for taking more long distance photos and this camera seemed perfect for the price. The pictures are high quality with the colours coming out really well, the anti shake facility is great and the touch buttons on the back are a good feature (once you get the hang of how to use them!). I was impressed with the zoom facility, and also the speed of photo taking.
