Summary: This camera takes amazing pictures it was originally manufactured in March of this year, not available for purchase as of yet in the US; but I can say they are really missing out on a good camera.
Summary: This is the first digital camera -besides a disposable- that I have ever purchased. I learned a long tome ago that 35mm film equaled effectively 15 megapixels give or take, and decided I would stick with film until digital caught up. This camera is not quite 15MP but the technical advantages inherent in digital photos more than makes up the difference. This particular camera takes outstanding pictures.
Summary: All compacts have essentially the same problem: small CCD's with lots of noise. I compared the shots from this camera to $500+ models, incl. Leica, and it's totally on par with all of them (or better). The CCD is actually a larger one (for compacts) and the jpegs are as good as any raw files from expensive compact models. Perfect size and handling for those "missed" opportunities. Shoot manually and turn all the sharpening off.
Pros: Bright LCD, Comfortable Controls, Easy Setup, Easy to Keep Clean, Easy To Use, Great Picture Quality
