Summary: The camera is great for outside shooting. For dark areas, it is horrible. I can never get a great setting for dark areas. This camera replaced a Canon powershot. I'm going to get a Canon again. The Canon camera's seem to be superior.
Summary: I have a DSLR and lenses, and a Canon S3 IS ultra-zoom. I wanted a small pocketable point-and-shoot for those occasions where I did not want to lug the other gear. It was a toss-up between this and a Panasonic LZ8, and a Nikon S550. The Nikon did not have optical image stabilization, and the Panny was a bit bulgy due to the AA batteries. So, I decided on this camera after reading a few reviews.
Summary: It's small, it's stylish, it's quick to load. In short, if you're shooting in AUTO mode, make sure there is plenty of light. The pictures will be clear and crisp. However, as soon as a flash is needed, the camera defaults to 1/45 shutter speed! This is highly bizarre as it is almost asking to create blur. Why wouldn't they make the shutter 1/125 or 1/250 like on any other camera that uses a synch flash? I have no idea.
Pros: Bright LCD, Easy Setup, Short Lag Time
Cons: Poor Operation in Low Light, Proprietary USB connector
