Summary: The camera works just fine and I am using it regularly and plan to put it to even greater use. It was a bargain for the money and I do not have to have the "very latest" gizmo to make me happy. I have always been "utilitarian" in that if it gets the job done it fine with me.
Excerpt: The samsung S860 camera is an average camera. I use it for my business and there are a few cons and pros I would like to mention. The camera freezes up when I am right in the middle of taking an important picture. It also is very slow when you turn it on and are trying to take a picture. The settings are not very user friendly. It takes forever to navigate around the menu if you decide to change the picture quality or anything else. The battery life is not very good.
Samsung Digital Cameras are not necessarily a great investment.

Excerpt: Samsung Digital Cameras-S series are a good camera for personal use, but not necessarily for professional use. They do not seem to take great action shots, which I found out using it for my volunteer photography job. They are also pretty easy to tear up. I have had two of these cameras, and the first one tore up twice through everyday use. I went ahead and decided to get another one, although I had my doubts...
A lot of money for a little camera that won't work.

Excerpt: Samsung - S860 Digital Camera I bought this camera in pink and was so excited to get it. The first few times that I used it, the camera worked great after that it only worked when it wanted to. The flash didnt work, the lens wouldn't retract half the time and when you turned it on the service message popped up and the camera went off. I called Wal-Mart, but since I didnt have the reciept they couldn't do anything. When I tried to call the company, there was no answer...
The Samsung S860 is indestructible, but takes mediocre pictures

Excerpt: I have had this camera for almost three years now and have traveled with it extensively. I bought it because, at the time, its specs looked significantly better than others in its price range--and hey, it came in cute colors. On the up-side, I will say that I have found this camera nearly indestructible. I usually just keep it in my purse, so it has definitely seen it's share of battering. It has been spilled on. It has been dropped. It has been sat on.
Excerpt: My husband and I bought this camera to replace and older point and shoot camera. Mostly I was hoping for a shorter lag time between pressing the button and the picture actually taking. This was especially important because I mostly use it to take pictures of my little kids who don't like to hold still for very long! But, I was disappointed that the lag time is still slow, especially in certain lighting.
Summary: The only reason that I gave this item 2 stars instead of one is because when I purchased it the price was much cheaper and up until this work it did work pretty good. I bought this camera for my husband last year for fathers day. It worked fine until this week when the lens stopped going in and closing, next thing I know it just completely stopped working and at the worst time while my husband was getting sworn into the army.
Summary: Loved this camera for the first week we owned it, that was until we tried to use it outdoors in bright sun. Since there is no viewfinder other than the rear panel lcd there is no way to frame a shot in bright sunlight when the lcd washes out. You are forced to look over the top of the camera and guess at the shot. Not a good thing when you are as active as we are. That is why I gave the camera an overall rating of 1 star yet evaluated the other items higher.
