Summary: been using this camera now for over two years, and cannot fault it. Simple to use, great picture quality, good flash, optical zoom is excellent though limited ... but what do you really expect from a camera in this price range. I am, however, baffled by the review comments about the battery life, as I have never experienced any problems whatsoever even when using the flash.
Excerpt: I have had this camera for about 6 months and really have come to love it. After buying iot to replace another Samsung one that broke after dropping it a few too many times. This one seems to be slightly sturdier, and unlike many camera now, it is not too thin and delicate that you think that you will break it.
Excerpt: I got given this camera for my birthday as an all round general use camera. The functions on the camera are easy to work out and the quality of the pictures are amazing. The only problem i seemed to have with it, is the battery's, what ever type i used, seemed to run out very quickly, so i'd recommend using rechargable's.
Summary: I'm not sure what other reviewers are talking about, my battery life is fine! I use some rechargeable batteries I bought and I don't have to charge them back up too much at all. Had this camera a couple of years now, nice quality pics, smallish camera, good flash. Shame it didn't come with a cover.
Summary: Firstly, The battery life is very poor for taking flash photos. If you plan to take 5 in a row then the battery will die. I have tried rechargable batteries and the best Duracell batteries but it makes little difference. The only advice is to take 6 spare batteries with you on an evening out. Secondly, the photos themselves and usability including zoom are excellent and cannot be faulted.
Excerpt: I bought the S700 from Argos in December. It was included in the sales at £69.99. That is an excellent price for the best digital camera I have used. I never liked Samsung as a brand, but after using this, I would buy from Samsung again. The screen is very clear, and large,as it is a 2.5 inch TFT active matrixLCD. and the menu system is very intuative.
Pros: Compact, clear, easy to use, excellent output
Cons: Not enough opportunities to use a camera of this quality
Excerpt: Brilliant camera for the price. Nice large screen and an excellent picture quality when you transfer it to the PC and print out your photos. However one problem with it might be that if you're not using flash and try to take photos, they can become blurry and you can get a motion blur effect so you might need a tripod for it. Apart from that it's worth every penny!
Excerpt: I chose this as a step up from using the pretty competent Nokia N95 camera and i've been happy with it so far. It represents a good budget option for those who want to take decent photos but can't afford the usual £150 you might pay for a good compact. It came boxed with all the usual stuff you would expect, manual, CD with software and 2 cables - one for the PC USB port and another to connect to a TV or other similar device.
Pros: Smallish, SD cards are cheap, photos are of a good quality, decent battery life with rechargables
Cons: needs tripod for dark photos, battery life is laughable with normal batteries
Excerpt: The Samsung Digimax S700 is a great 7.2 mega pixel camera with a large 2.5" LCD display, 3 x optical and 5 x digital zoom, video recorder, and much more brilliant features. Design: The design of this camera is sleek and sophisticated, with a large 2.5" LCD screen, and the brand and camera name printed on the front. The casing is silver, with a leathery bit next to the lens.
Excerpt: I got this camera for my Birthday and I have used it many times. The camera itself is quite light and comfortable to use, the display is colourful and large, 2.4 inch. It comes with its USB lead and Digimax disk and is very simple to connect to the computer. The internal Memory can only take about 32 Pictures so you really need a SD Card, I got a 2GB Sd Card and it will hold thousands of 7 Megapixel images.
