Summary: If you are considering buying a camera for general use my answer would be 'Buy It!' this is a great little gadget. I bought a set of lithium batteries (£7.+) from Argos and a memory card and have never looked back. Dropped it a couple of times but it's still going with no faults.
Summary: I bought 12 of these cameras 2 years ago (as a PTA funded project. One for each class in the school)and although it takes good pictures, I've had nothing but complaints about how quickly it drains the batteries. In some csases the camera will only allow one shoot per set of batteries which makes it very uneconomical in the long run.
Summary: We bought this only a year ago and it's very frustrating as the batteries are constantly run down by it - usually just as you want to take a photo. It's now just died completely - overall not good value for money.
Summary: My Kodak gave up on me after 10 years loyal service, and I decided to try the Samsung, looks nice, nice and small with a big screen at the back and good size dials and buttons (very good when your wear glasses). Very easy to use and takes 2 AA batteries which are cheap to buy, either rechargable or throw away type. Battery life as good as kodak one and if you puchase rechargable (available at Amazon - any gifts from Amazon kindly accepted)your outlay is very small.
Summary: I've had this camera for nearly 6 months and it has already died on me. The photo quality is poor, the shooting modes are confusing, the facial detection seems to focus on everything but people's faces and the battery life is short. I spent over £100 on this camera under the (false) assurance that it was high quality - yet here I am, 6 months down the line, having to buy a new camera! Avoid this one!
Summary: I initially bought this as I was going on holiday and didn't have a good digital camera. I also needed it for occassions. I managed to get the camera very cheap at the time from Amazon as this camera was reduced at the time so I was very pleased with the purchase. As this camera does not have a rechargable battery, I had to buy a whole pack before I left anywhere and always had to keep a couple of spare batteries in case any ran out (which they did often).
