  • Excerpt: The GXR became something quite unique when they released the mount module.  Apart from Leica there was and has been no other camera specifically designed for LM mount lenses.  At the time Ricoh engineers were very proud of the specially designed focal plane shutter.

  • Excerpt: I use it with Voigt 35/2.5. Nice colors and DR. Focusing not so complex, and I prefer to focus it once and make 10-15 shots without spending time for waiting beep every time. Parc Leopold

Ricoh camera

  • Summary: I will probably love this camera when I get used to it, this is my 2nd Ricoh , loved my 1st one, this one is a bit "trigger-happy" compared to my other one. So 4 stars it is for now. Love the fact that I can change lenses.

APS-C size sensor that means sensor same size as Nikon D7000, and images are very sharp and true colours.

  • Summary: what is a good camera? is this a good camera? is this the best? who is it for?.I think all these questions are very hard to answer and most people want to know answers to these questions rather than graphs and numbers.

Nice photos, intriguing feature, but alas, not perfect

  • Summary: Ricoh has designed a camera like none other. Instead of buying a xx MP camera that, as technology advances, you simply have to live with or sell - Ricoh allows you to adapt your needs as technology adapts. Want more MPs? Buy a new mount to fit on the body. Want more zoom? You can get that too.

High quality lens - portable camera at a reasonable price

Alan Barr, Amazon
23 July 2013
  • Summary: I have been using the GXR with the 2.8 28mm equiv module for nearly 2 years and the GXR with the with the Leica mount module for about a year. I recently picked up the A-16 24-85 module. First, let me note that GXR is a great system. The 24-85 module, like the 28mm module, provides a sharp lens.

  • Excerpt: Wonderful lens module.  Sharp, small enough.  Too bad Ricoh seems to be just letting folks use legacy lenses now, still, the 50mm is the best.
