Ricoh GR APS-C

Brian B, B&H Photo

 • Excerpt: Ricoh GR
I came to know about GR in one of friends' blog. I had know GR when it was a film camera but never tried it as only users in specific niche liked it; I thought by then GR was not for me, especially, I was deeply in love with DSLRs.

Portability
As time went and I started aging, carrying heavy camera equipments on weekends became more and more burdensome, not to mention that I did not even attempt to carry DSLRs during the week.
 • Pros: Dynamic Range, Great Resolution, Small / Compact
 • Cons: None

GR a Pocket Rocket!

Darren, B&H Photo
 • Excerpt: I have owned the GX200 since 2008. At that time I was highly impressed by its ergonomic design and easy to use in-camera menu and button layout. 5 years later, the GR inherited all the strength of its predecessors, while boasting a APSC sensor! One of the reasons I love this camera is for its small size. I leave it in my everyday bag and carry it with me everywhere. The other reason is I can use it and adjust settings with just one hand.

Brilliant!

 • Excerpt: I am sure many people reading this review have read many other reviewers reviews of the camera. Suffice it to say this camera is as good as everyone has made it out to be. There are no critical flaws of any sort and many of the small things that I would call flaws are definitely subjective user to user. Most every aspect of this camera can be customized and can be made to fit it's user perfectly and it is definitely worth the time to get the camera set up for you.
 • Pros: DURABLE, Easy to Use, Fantastic Ergonomics, Great image quality
 • Cons: Charge Through Camera

Puts the Snap in Snapshot

Chris On The Street, B&H Photo
4 March 2014
 • Excerpt: I bought this camera for the sole purpose of street photography. I am used to a DSLR, so the first time I started using the Ricoh it was very odd, but very quickly I fell in love with it. The snap focus is fantastic, and the T/AV dial is my go-to for night shooting. I obviously did not pay attention fully when buying this because I did not realize there was no zoom, which at first was disappointing, but now it adds challenge to my shooting.
 • Pros: Fast Shutter Speed, Good in Low Light, Small / Compact
 • Cons: Complicated Controls, No Viewfinder

 • Excerpt: Being a street photographer and a wedding photographer I own various cameras. From film to DSLR and mirrorless cameras. That being said the IQ from this camera rivals my Dslr wedding gear for ISO quality and in a size that fits into my back pocket.
Good-
-stealth and Size; good looking camera and small.
-sharp even at wide open it handles well.
-high ISO ability and usable images.
 • Pros: Easy to Use, Fast AF, Fast Shutter Speed, Good in Low Light, Great Resolution, Large Clear LCD, Small / Compact
 • Cons: No Viewfinder, Short Battery Life

Great Camera

 • Excerpt: I use the camera for street photography. This camera is nearly perfect for street photography as it's small, silent, and still has manual controls. It also has a function called snap focus, which allows you to press the shutter rapidly and it focuses on a preset length immediately. Fantastic feature! Great camera!
 • Pros: Easy to Use, Fast Shutter Speed, Great Resolution, Large Clear LCD, Small
 • Cons: Limited Zoom, No Viewfinder, Poor in Low Light

When beautiful photos are what matters

Yuri, B&H Photo
19 February 2014
 • Excerpt: I bought mine just before Christmas, and have been using it non-stop since, mainly as a family outings camera. I chose it because I was primarily interested in image quality (i.e. not sports-fast AF, zoom and such). I am happy to report that it's image quality is absolutely amazing, the best I have seen in a digital camera so far, and I have previously owned SLR's and DSLR's by Nikon and Canon.
 • Pros: Easy to Use, Great Resolution, Large Clear LCD, Small / Compact
 • Cons: Complicated Controls

Where have you been all my life !

Shutterbug, B&H Photo
18 February 2014
 • Excerpt: I don't know where to begin, it's razor sharp, over flowing with features and fun stuff, the great menu's have great sub menu's...and it's 100% stuff that is usable, no filler, no junk, just greatness. It feels great in the hand, it don't have that normal "compact" feel to it, everything you need is laid out on the back, no digging through complicated menus. The image quality is just outstanding.
 • Pros: Easy to Use, Good Battery Life, Good in Low Light, Great Resolution, Large Clear LCD, Small / Compact
 • Cons: No Viewfinder

Almost perfect

Antonis, B&H Photo
7 February 2014
 • Excerpt: This camera is almost perfect. The autofocus is quite fast, the image quality is amazing for such a tiny camera. It can fit in any pocket, even with the viewfinder on. High iso quality is also very good (up to 3200). The battery life is a plus too. The only problem is the distortion from the very wide lens and the rediculously high price on the viewfinder.

Great camera but...

Gilles, B&H Photo
1 February 2014
 • Excerpt: The size and ergonomics of this camera are awesome. And so are the black and whites. This is the best camera I had for black and white conversion actually. My only complain is that the lens is not distortion free as one might have expected being a fixed focal length. Also, the 28mm equivalent might not be as versatile as longer focal lengths, but it certainly gives your pictures a unique atmosphere.
 • Pros: Easy to Use, Great Resolution, Large Clear LCD, Small / Compact
 • Cons: No Viewfinder
