The Ricoh GR Digital III is a digital camera that supports a 1/1.7" Type CCD sensor with a 10.00 million effective pixels output for up to 3648 x 2736 pixel resolution images. The camera also supports video recording up to 640 x 480 at 15 of 30 fps, and supports JPEG (Exif v2.21, DPOF), RAW (DNG) and AVI (Open DML Motion JPEG) file format. The camera supports a 28mm (35mm equiv) focal length camera with F1.9-F9 aperture value and is designed with 8 elements in 6 groups (aspheric lens: 2 elements and 2 surfaces). It accepts conversion lenses, and has a digital zoom of up to 4x (up to 5.7x at 640x480). The camera also features Auto focus, Manual focus, Multi-point AF, Spot AF and lock, and a ISO sensitivity up to 1600. The digital camera also supports +/- 2EV in 1/3 stop increments exposure control, 1-1/2000 sec shutter speed, Program AE (with exposure shift), Aperture Priority AE, Manual and Scene modes function. The camera also features a 3.0-inch transparent LCD with 920,000 pixels color support, USB 2.0 Hi-Speed connectivity, AV out (PAL/NTSC switchable) function, SD / SDHC memory card storage support (in addition to its 88MB internal storage). The camera is powered by a Li-Ion battery pack DB65 battery, measures 109x59x26 mm and weighs 188g.

Features

The Ricoh GR Digital III features a new image processing engine, a new CCD, and the newly developed 28 mm/F1.9 GR Lens. With F1.9, f-6.0 mm (equivalent to 28 mm for 35 mm film cameras) lens, the GR DIGITAL III is able to shoot with a faster shutter speed than previous models, or to shoot with the same shutter speed but at a lower setting for ISO sensitivity. The camera features image processing engine GR Engine III uses noise reduction technology that reduces noise levels while maintaining resolution, tone characteristics, and saturation; a CCD (1/1.7-inch, approxiamtely 10 megapixels) that achieves high-sensitivity properties through the use of GR Lens and GR Engine III which provides users with optimal performance in low-light scenes, letting them shoot fleeting moments; algorithm improvements that reduces focusing time in low-light scenes; Pre-AF function which accelerates focus speed by adjusting the focus to match the movement of the subject; "full-press snap" function which shoots at a preset distance for a one-push full-press of the shutter button; and is able to record up to five RAW images in consecutive shooting and bracketing.
