Where most other camera companies are going for 720p video in their nicer point-and-shoots, Ricoh added more photo-centric features to the CX1 : in-camera HDR , high-speed sequential shooting and razor-sharp macro. You won’t go for the Ricoh CX1 for its HDR mode as it is not dependable enough. This compact does however come with several advantages such as its 7.1x zoom, its nice LCD screen and overall responsiveness. The new CMOS sensor, without producing any miracles, is more than ok and means the CX1 is a credible alternative to the higher megapixel option from the competition. Read more

Here’s a brand new high-spec compact digital camera that’s ideal for travellers. The Ricoh CX1 digital camera has lots of similar rivals out there but this has a good combination of features for the price, the best of which is the biggest brightest viewing screen I’ve seen on a camera like this. The Ricoh fax/copier has both flat bed and sheet-feed from a stack of papers. Unlike many machines, there is no place for hidden jams. It is very reliable and useful. Read more
Good for bright outdoors high contrast situation. Downhill in low contrast shade. Very bad for hi iso indoor no flash situation. The noise reduction blurred important details when the whole chin smeared with facial details joined to the neck. Useless for people shots. My old Fuji FD30 and FD31 beats it hands down. Listen to Ricoh fanboys at your own peril unless you are solely into B/W. Bought it thinking that P&S cameras are all in similar IQ range and playing premium... Read more
