  • Conclusion: While it has its share of flaws, the combination of rugged, waterproof design with GPS capabilities and an 8 megapixel sensor makes the Ricoh Caplio 500SE an attractive proposition for outdoors photographers.
  • Pros: Rugged design, waterproof, GPS functionality, Bluetooth and wireless
  • Cons: Noise and colour reproduction not quite up to scratch, chunky design

Ricoh Caplio 500G Wide digital camera

Pocket Lint

  • Pros: Build, simple to use, nice wide-angle lens, image quality at lower ISOs, quite probably the perfect family or beach camera, ideal builder’s snapper.
  • Cons: Big and clunky, horrible to look at, image noise at higher ISOs, price, horrible to look at … and did I say it looked horrible?
