Excerpt: This is a nice little camera with 8 mega-pixels and lots of customizable settings. My only complaint is that it is easy to accidentally switch the camera off: It has a sliding cover for the lens that also acts as the on/off switch and if you put your fingers against the plate with just a bit of pressure, the camera flips off for a moment.
Summary: I'm very happy with Pentax products. I had an A10, and I was really happy with it. But I cracked the LCD screen so I just bought another camera. This Z10 was it. It's small, easy to use and good picture quality for my personal purposes. I'd give it 5 stars, but the plastic casing is not as nice as my old A10, but the sliding cover to power on is pretty cool.
Summary: I just finished a 2 week vacation with this camera and was very happy with it. 8MP is plenty for the type of photography I do. The 7x zoom matches my old Olympus 320, and is very handy. I do miss the viewfinder since using the screen outside is really hard. You kind of have to look for bright parts in the scene and try to find them on the screen and then "guess" on composition since you really can't see any details, or much more than light and dark.
Summary: This is a pretty nice camera. It doesn't have a lot of built-in memory but I got an SD card to make up for the lack. The quality of the pictures is pretty good and it takes moving pictures surprisingly well. All in all, I'm happy with it.
Summary: This is a great camera for everyday needs. I bought this camera a couple months ago and I was so pleased with my purchase that I bought another one for my mother (her first digital camera). I chose this camera because of how easy it is to use. The menus are easy to navigate and you can do almost anything on this camera by just pressing a single button (throw away pictures, review pictures, etc.).
Summary: Had a previous version of a Pentax Optio so I am familiar with their design. Lots of impromements over the previous version. Picture quality is superb, and lots of new options for taking pictures. All in all a great camera choice for around $100.00.
Summary: I've only had camera about 2 weeks - now on first trip to really use it. Great pix so far and easy to use. However, I've had a problem finding another battery -in local stores. And I've not discovered yet if I can shoot black & white without it being in movie mode. But will keep researching book. You also have to be careful how/where you place camera (in purse or bag) as the slide lens cover can come open and therefore, camera lens be exposed.
Summary: I have had a number of good point and shoot digitals and enjoyed them, but hated the lag time. This camera all but does away with that! I even took sports shots of my grandkids and got the "on the move!" I like the shake reduction feature because I was shooting in low light a lot of times and needed it. Also, the night time and closeup features worked much better than my old Pentax, even though it was a great camera.
