Excerpt: I have had this camera for one weekend - it's been on two kayaking trips, one down a frothy river and on a lake, and on a hike through the woods. The Pentax Optio WP digital camera has taken some very nice shots, easily, and has been splashed on.
I take my pocket camera kayaking, snorkeling and river running!

Excerpt: My first foray into the world of digital cameras is now a distant memory. At the time the cameras were really expensive and we decided to opt for a Kodak 6410, a semi-automatic camera with a super-zoom which, although it pulled great shots (relative to others at the time) it wasn't exactly what...
Pros: Waterproof, pocket - sized and decent pictures
Cons: Clearly not as good as a digital SLR and some features are rather gimicky
Excerpt: I have had this camera for 2 years now and I see myself keeping it for a long time to come yet. Doing a lot of canoeing it is perfect for me. I keep it in my bouyancy aid and never have to worry about going over.
Summary: A very good phone for someone who is worried about dropping it in a puddle or knocking the zoom lens (as there isn't one). All this combined with good photo quality and easy of use, and with more than ample settings for your average user.
Pros: Internal zoom to prevent accidental damage, small and compact, size and feel of a mobile phone.
Cons: No lens cover -- waiting to see how long before it gets scratched.
Summary: Being new to the world of digital cameras meant that the process of buying my camera was long winded. In the end I decided to go for the Optio WP with the waterproof feature being the selling point for me.
Summary: I agree with the two above reviews, a lens cap might be nice - but not sure how it would fit on. I bought my own protective case to stop it being damaged (as badly) if dropped - I bought the John Thursday Crumpler case (I think it was the 70 size but can't remember) as it's made from neoprene (seems...
Excerpt: I bought this camera a couple of weeks ago, mainly because of its underwater capabilities: its certainly the only 5MP underwater camera out at the moment. Its very scary the first time you drop your camera in the water to test it out- I was quite dubious, but it worked perfectly, and the photo...
Pros: Underwater, wide range of modes available, small sleek design .
Summary: I study environmental science and often find myself taking pictures at beautiful locations, but certain conditions sometimes limit me from shooting. When I saw the adverts for this camera, I thought 'I have finally found a digital camera worth buying'.
