Summary: I bought this camera two years ago to replace a Canon Powershot D10 that was lost in a river. It takes decent quality photos and video - video gets mushy if there is anything resembling fast motion however. I've spent a lot of time with it underwater, never leaked, would fog up sometimes, but only for a few minutes. After two years, the LCD screen went dead. For the price I paid, I would have expected it to last longer than this.
Summary: I am getting ready to take this on my carribean cruise honeymoon and really give it its testing. I have used it some leading up to the trip to learn it and like it. It does not produce the best indoor pictures as the coloring is a little off but it is not menat to replace my DSLR. If i feel strongly one way or the other after the trip i will update.
Excerpt: I've owned and actively used several earlier waterproof Pentax models starting WP. I've been using Pentax WG-2 since April 2012. Conceptually, WP is the type of camera that upfront inspires no great expectations as far as quality of the photos. It's just an inconspicuous soap box that "gets you legible pictures" when and where anything else would either break or get stolen.
Summary: I bought to replace my lost Nikon Coolpix AW100 since I wanted to try something different. Picture quality is good only in sunny conditions, in every other situation it takes a very bad dive, night shots have very noticeable grain; shaky pictures in low light are common, ghosty or just plain bad. Nikon's was excellent most of the time under a wide variety of conditions. As far as construction, this camera is not heavy.
Summary: Fantastic camera in every respect and its claims of being adventure proof are true, as long as your adventure doesn't stray too far from a power source. Two hours approx if your shooting a lot. I bought a second battery and that obviously doubles the adventure time but don't expect to get too far with it. I had a Pentax options w20 prior to this and loved it.
Summary: I cant see a contact seller section so ill put it here. When i ordered the cammera it was £136 but when the order was confirmed it went up to £150 . Dont know why and although in principle im not happy its still cheaper than any where else and thats the only reason im not canceling it. As for the cammera ive have one before and i know it works well but i never got to see the results as it was stolen with the card.
