Summary: I ordered this camera thinking it was new. It was used though, the screen has scratches all over it and was def not new. I tried to get the battery to work in the camera but the camera itself was defective. It would power on sometimes and other times it would not. When I did mange to get it powered on it had images of the previous user on it, some very nude images of a man and a woman that were not pleasing to look at. I would never order from this seller again.
Summary: If you only use it in a dry area, it's great. But once you submerge it even in 6 inches of water it leaked. After about 15 minutes it died!! I do not suggest this item to anyone unless you just want to throw away your money. I sent it back and received a full refund and used my refund to purchase a better water proof camera for just a little over half the price I paid for this one that leaked.
Summary: They did not include the manual because the manuals are in Japanese and obviously these units are Japanese warranted. Not US. Big Value inc. did not specified this unlike other sellers. All the boxes had empty spaces because of missing manuals.
Summary: The look and feel of this camera is great and if that's all that matters this camera deserves 5 stars. But upload the pictures to the computer and you will find mediocre soft pictures. I can't even image printing one.
Burst not in scene selection, missed swimming action shots

Summary: UPDATE: While packing the camera up for return, I looked at the manual & found that it did have a burst feature - but it's not located in the scene selection like in other cameras we've used. You have to press the arrow up button to find it, along with the self-timer options too. What the heck? This is an important function for sports-related shots, it should be in the scene selections menu!
Summary: we had this camera for about 2 weeks...during that time we were actually pleased with the picture quality and the videos it took..the camera was handled like a baby but started having issues with the pictures being out of focus..the iso was not adjusting based on the type of picture chosen...like the sports setting would not increase the iso up to handle fast shutter speeds...we called pentax and was told to send back to them...
Summary: I bought this camera to bring on our 20th Anniversery trip to Belize. It worked fine up in the rain forest, and at the shoreline. On our 6th day, we went snorkling and I bought it into the water for the first time. I never went swam below the surface, and the camera never went beyond 2-3 feet under. When I came out of the water 10 minutes later, the screen was dead and had a white color under it at two corners. Camera dead, many pictures of our trip lost.
Stopped working after four uses - that should be enough said.

Summary: October 2012 update: After emailing with Pentax customer service, I followed their instructions to mail the camera to their repair facility in Texas and that was a couple of months ago. I have heard nothing from them, even after emailing the customer service rep asking about the status of my broken camera (Being fixed? Going to send me a new one? Bueller? Bueller?). Complete silence, my broken camera is gone to their facility, and I have no idea what's happening.
Summary: The camera leaked the second time it was used in the sea, despite having followed the instruction manual precisely. The manufacturer refused to honour the warranty, claiming that in spite of my experience, the unit was actually still waterproof. Worst of all, I personally found photos taken on a smart phone were of higher quality than on this thing. Save your money.
