Summary: Great features, have one for me, got another for my daughter. Fantastic software to go with it. Two con's are short battery life in cold weather (under 40 degrees), and I can only get 15 seconds of video.
Worth the price and better than most in this catergory.

Summary: This camera is my everyday go to camera when I dont want to pull out the SLR, really great camera to have and not worry about. Very rugged and takes better than average photos, perfect for a hike or to take pics in the surf. The panorama photo feature is really cool.
Summary: Great camera, and easy to use. Used is sailing, surfing (overhead and pretty heavy in indo), snorkelling, mountain biking, rock climbing. Image quality not as good as in other standard point and shoots but plenty good enough, except without flash in low light.
Pros: waterproof, tough, wide angle lens (28mm equivalent), compact, easy to use., A nice touch is the programmable quick access button so you can easily access the menu functions you most use. eg E.V.A compensation., Simple video editing in camera - shorten a film down to the bit with the action rathe...
Cons: grainy photos in really low light. (eg late evening landscapes), no lens cover - just clear plastic, i still haven't managed to scratch mine and didn't have a case for a long time so has never been a problem, just a worry.
Summary: Love the quality of this camera! It is packed with cool features, too many to list, have not tried it under water yet, but the above water picture have come out stunning!! What can you say more than the name Pentax says for itself.
Summary: After doing much research of weather-proof cameras, I arrived at this one. I was very discouraged by the reviews complaining of poor image quality, and so I almost did not buy it. I ended up risking it because it had features I was looking for. I am so glad I did.
Summary: This camera does just what it says it will. We took it to Mexico on vacation and had it in the sand, out snorkeling, in the waves... it was great. We didn't have to worry about sand getting in the lense and making it stick or keeping it dry while we were at the beach.
Compact, super rugged, nice to not have to think about

Summary: I've dropped this camera, stepped on it, rinsed it, swam with it, rafted in Nepal with it. It has no equal as an easily portable waterproof, shock resistant camera. It's pictures are excellent considering what it is designed for, and just a few tweaks of the options easily avoid the noise problems...
Summary: This is a very good camera for those who are looking for a practical and resistat camera. it is very good for sports and off course for some pictures under water. the quality of the pictures is normal, neither very good nor very bad.
Summary: I wanted a care-free camera for outdoor purposes. Easy to carry, waterproof, cold and hot resistant, shock resistant, with a menu that discribe each fonction you choose. To bring back good souvenirs, it is perfect. Because the W-80 runs with a specific battery, I suggest to have one in spare.
