Summary: Great features, have one for me, got another for my daughter. Fantastic software to go with it. Two con's are short battery life in cold weather (under 40 degrees), and I can only get 15 seconds of video. But it's shockproof and takes underwater pictures, it's user-friendly and the more I mess around with it, the more features I'm discovering. Definitely a very cool camera!
Summary: I bought this camera in 2010. Since that time I have visited Canada, Antarctica, New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Laos and Hawaii, not to mention a road trip from Texas to Massachusetts and back. I wanted a camera that could deal with really cold temperatures, water and being tossed in a back pack. Also having majored in photojournalism for two years- I wanted to have a camera that took completely decent pictures. This camera surpassed all my expectations.
Summary: I just found one of these cameras at a dive site in Ketchikan, Alaska, sitting on the bottom in about 30 feet of water. When I found it barnacles had started to grow on the screen, but what the heck, I hit the on button and it worked! I snapped a couple of photos of my dive buddy during our deco stop. On the surface i scrolled through the photos and found out that it had last been used to take underwater photos 3 months before I found it.
Worth the price and better than most in this catergory.

Summary: This camera is my everyday go to camera when I dont want to pull out the SLR, really great camera to have and not worry about. Very rugged and takes better than average photos, perfect for a hike or to take pics in the surf. The panorama photo feature is really cool. My only gripe is lack of full manual operation (like an SLR) but I have learned to work around that and use the many mode features for specific situations.
Summary: I had been looking for a small, durable, shock proof and waterproof camera for myself for quite some time. I had bought an Olympus for my college freshman neice and thought that was the only option available. This camera was comparable but had a lot higher picture resolution (megapixels) and had a 5x wide angle lens. A much better featured camera. Amazon had a special price so despite the lukewarm reviews, I bought it. I have never been disappointed.
Summary: Great camera, and easy to use. Used is sailing, surfing (overhead and pretty heavy in indo), snorkelling, mountain biking, rock climbing. Image quality not as good as in other standard point and shoots but plenty good enough, except without flash in low light. basically i wanted a really tough camera that i didn't have to worry about and it was exactly that. 5 stars for value as was a bit pricey when i brought it but now available at about half that (while stocks last).
Pros: waterproof, tough, wide angle lens (28mm equivalent), compact, easy to use., A nice touch is the programmable quick access button so you can easily access the menu functions you most use. eg E.V.A compensation., Simple video editing in camera - shorten a film down to the bit with the action rather than having to keep the 5 mins of filming waiting for your mate to come over a jump. if you don't want to blow the pictures up really big you can film an action sequence and...
Cons: grainy photos in really low light. (eg late evening landscapes), no lens cover - just clear plastic, i still haven't managed to scratch mine and didn't have a case for a long time so has never been a problem, just a worry.
Summary: this camera is great. i am by no means a photographer so i just use it to capture memories. these camera is very resistant and the quality of pictures is great. the underwater pics are superb. it is a little big to just have in your pocket. you cnt zoom in while taking videos and no light when you are recording. i think these are small downs compared to what you get as a whole. i have always used a pentax camera so the controls were very easy to get the hang of.
