Summary: Seeing as how this is a waterproof camera I'd say they probably really meant for it to be used more in the outdoor environment. This pics it takes then are typically excellent quality. Indoors or lower light however, suck. They are grainy, fuzzy and, well, crap. *sigh* The camera is small and very portable. I used it in the pool and it had no problems at all. But since it takes crappy indoor pics I'm looking for another camera for more full time use.
Handy portable water proof camera but low picture quality

Summary: I bought this camera a year ago and have taken in few outdoor trips. It's a handy waterproof camera. I noticed few water condensation in inner side of display screen when I used in sea water (1/2 feet deep beach area) for longer than 2 hours but it went away after a day and still working fine. Under water images or video are okay. But this camera is not for poor light conditions. Picture quality is not so great and takes some time to take picture on clicking.
Summary: First of all let me start by saying that I took less than 30 pictures with this camera before I came to the conclusion that I made the WRONG choice in buying this camera (I subsequently sent it back). In my heart I really really wanted this to be the camera I would use for many years to come.
Summary: The Pentax Optio W60 10 megapixel camera was a great addition to our digital camera collection. We used this on a trip to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia recently for pictures taken while snorkelling. The images were true to colour, and the movie feature was great to use while feeding the fish.
Summary: This is a really nice camera if you are looking for something that goes anywhere and will last through just about anything, then this is the camera for you. While the "all-terrain" characteristics of this camera are outstanding, the photo quality is not. The camera is slow when in auto mode and it really has a hard time with darker situations, with flash coming on at strange times and really messing with photos at times.
Summary: At work we use the Pentax Optio W30 and they perform superbly under the abuse we put them through. The pictures are very good so I figured I would upgrade to the W60 for my personal use. I am very disappointed in the photo quality. Not only the lighting issues mentioned in the other reviews but the photos seem very pixelated when you zoom in. My Canon set at 4 Mp had better photos than this camera set at 10 Mp.
Summary: I really wasn't impressed with the pictures of this camera. Night pictures are terrible, distance pictures are terrible. Decent pictures when close-up in daylight. I've tried to improve the quality by changing the settings, but it hasn't made a huge difference. I'm only keeping it because: A. Its durable enough to let kids play with it (I have 5 nieces). B. We have several water-related vacations planned this year.
Summary: I used this camera for only one week - at which point I forgot it was in my pocket and accidentally took it down to 50ft (and it filled with saltwater). Of the several hundred photos I took (using auto-focus), many were out-of-focus, and in this regard it seems worse than my previous Optio model (30?), while the camera's size and shape are an improvement over that previous model. The acceptable photos were quite clear, however. The numerous modes are overwhelming, e.g.
Pros: Comfortable Controls, Easy Setup, Easy To Use
Cons: Long Lag Time, Poor Operation in Low Light, Short Battery Life
Summary: I bought this camera for a trip where I was going to be snorkling on the surface for less than an hour at a time. I got it shortly before the trip. There is alot I really like about this camera and I was happy with the underwater photo quality given it was a point and shoot camera. I used the video feature underwater on infinity and didn't have any camera noise as described by some others.
