Excerpt: This really is a truly fantastic camera for the price (you can pick one up on amazon for £99!) - truly pocketable and light without feeling flimsy. The metal body feels far more expensive than it is and lends to a real quality feel on this camera.
Excerpt: I have owned the Pentax Optio S30 for one day and was impressed with its simplicity, compact size and the range of menu functions. The menu allows auto or manual control over focussing and exposure.
Excerpt: I received this camera from a friend and used for several days. Design. Altrough the phone is on market for several time I think the design is still great, aluminium-made with great build quality.
Pros: easy of use, design, AA batteries, good quality pictures
Summary: This is a good camera, which produces good shots, but it is outdated. You can get a camera which is tice as good for the same price. Also, and importantly, this camera is SO slow at taking pictures.
Excerpt: Lucky for me I recived this camera for free when my techno-phobe mother decided is was all too complex for her. Actually mastering the basic cameria functions is relatively striaght forward after a quick flick through the manual.
Pros: Sleek design and multiple functions, including video and sound recording .
Cons: Delayed reaction of several seconds prevents candid shots .
Summary: I've had this camera for two years and I'm now ready to move on. It was a gift from my dad - and I've been using it pretty regularly. Upside: 1. relatively easy to use 2. small and compact - I carry it with me EVERYWHERE 3. absolutely fantastic macro shots (though not super, super macro) 4.
Summary: Unlike the review below, I bought my optio S30 2 years ago and I have now replaced it with a camera with higher pixels for my A levels. In the time I have owned this camera I have taken around 3500 photos and it has never failed me, infact it is in good enough condition that i have been able to sell...
Summary: I bought a Pentax Optio S 30 camara in 2003 which was used approximately six times. It failed to work this April and was returned to Pentax who wanted £102.00 to repair it. Since it was hardly used I cannot reccomend it as a long term item but more of a very expensive trinket.
