Summary: This is a nice camera with lots of features. I gave it a four because I'm having trouble setting up the transfer to my computer. It's not plug and play like I expected and I'm not a nerd but that's not really the camera's fault.
Summary: Bought this to replace an Olympus SZ-12 that broke after two weeks. I have read comments about the cheap look of this camera, but if you get it in black, it actual looks pretty cool. I would also recommend that if you buy this camera make sure it is from KEH camera as they inspect it and give a decent warranty. I have taken about 100 pictures in the last week and I really like this camera. The pictures are sharp and the colors turn out well.
Summary: This is the new version of a camera we bought 9 years ago and loved. We tried other cameras but they all had problems that we couldn't get over. Our first purchase of this exact model when sour. Something happened, explainable, and the camera died. It seemed not repairable. But we still like the camera so much that we bought it again and just got a protection plan with it. Takes awesome pics and vids. allows you to zoom while taking vids, a lot of cameras don't do that.
Summary: It seems that the RX18 and the RZ18 are identical cameras. The user's manual has both designations on the cover. Mine is black and labeled rx18. Different suppliers at Amazon are liquidating their inventories so there is some spread in prices. I've seen prices up to $153. I got lucky and scored pretty much the last camera from a specific store for $94+S&H. A lot of the camera details were not surprising for an inexpensive camera.
Summary: I already have a Pentax Reflex and haven't had any issue at all. I was looking for a smaller "sister" and I picked up this camera. Great zoom, great pictures and good quality in the video recording mode, night pictures are not that good though(they came out kind of reddish if you don't change manually all the settings...). Overall, I would strongly recommend it for its price and its quality....
Good and bad, but worth it if you get a good price

Summary: I bought this camera because Costco offered it for $80 off. I wanted a pocket camera with a good zoom, and it does not disappoint there. There are a variety of modes to choose from, and the super close up is phenomenal for a small camera. Very light weight. Flash is iffy and you need to watch your fingers - you may be covering it. You can buy a remote for it and take group photos and be in them. Minuses for me = really, really bad panoramic.
Summary: I love the 18x optical zoom. I can take pictures of my family and friends even from across the yard, soccer field, etc. I like that it is small and lightweight and easy to use. Having a rechargeable battery is great, too.
Summary: i got this camera just before christmas 2012 because i wanted something less expensive than a dslr that still had a good optical zoom. pros: relatively inexpensive (less than $150 with the reduction) small but not tiny so it fits adult hands pretty well. 18X optical zoom big digital zoom (i think 130) 16mp, so great quality once you get used to being still and waiting a second for the camera to focus cons: will not focus between 3 and 6 feet for me no matter what i do...
Summary: "Back in the days" I learned 35mm photography with a Pentax K1000, and still remember their classic ME Super camera and superb line of lenses. So, while looking to upgrade my old 5 MP digital camera, this Pentax model caught my eye - and mind. I "made the leap of faith" and purchased the Optio RZ-18, and wish I had done so sooner!
In-line with my HD camcorder and a good step towards a DSLR

Summary: First of all; I actually have the black colour variant which looks a whole lot nicer than the one in the image. Given that at the time of writing this review, this camera is over three years old - it still does a pretty good job against cameras a lot newer than it. For just under £100 you can pick up a Pentax RZ18; and for the same price you cannot find anything that even comes close to this at any electronics store (I browsed Currys/PC World in the UK). The huuuge(!
