Summary: i bought one, the lcd display exploded (means the inside busted and spiderweb across the screen, couldnt see the photos i took) which rendered the device useless. i bought a 2nd one and it happened again. i was over 1 year but sent to pentax in AZ which they told me it would be $90 to repair each camera. no thanks, i can buy a brand new one for $95! lousy customer service if you have problems. very tempermental, find another option, its cheap for a reason.
Summary: My wife thought she did not know how to operate it, but it turns out that the camera is just not reliable. While trying to take pictures of our children on Santa's lap, it just died on me. Lense telescoped out. Screen black. Just dead. Nothing I did to it would get it going again. I gave up and took the photos with my cell phone which did not take very good pictures. My wife took the battary out and reinstalled it, and it went to working again.
Summary: Wow, what a piece of junk!!! This thing rarely focuses correctly. I just got the camera back from pentax because I thought it was broken. It wasn't broken, it's just a poor excuse for a camera. Not only does it not focus correctly, it has noise coming out the wazoo! 12 megapixels?...right! Would that be 12 megapixels only in full sun??? Because if the flash goes off...you're pretty much limited to wallet size pictures. Don't waste your time or money..
Summary: My camera refused to retract the lens only 5 weeks after I bought it. Pentax refused to repair it because they said I dropped it. I baby my electronics so much it makes my girlfriend jealous. It was a failed motor inside of the unit, but because it had a small scuff mark on it, they invalidated my warranty and refused to repair it. And they want me to pay for shipping so they can send it back, after I paid to ship it there! Unconscionable!
