Summary: i bought one, the lcd display exploded (means the inside busted and spiderweb across the screen, couldnt see the photos i took) which rendered the device useless. i bought a 2nd one and it happened again.
Summary: This is one truly amazing compact camera! My larger camera is a Nikon, and at the time, I was a little hesitant to purchase a point and shoot camera, for fear that it would not measure up. Boy was I wrong! I'm truly impressed with the picture quality, it's endless features and ease of operation.
Summary: My wife thought she did not know how to operate it, but it turns out that the camera is just not reliable. While trying to take pictures of our children on Santa's lap, it just died on me. Lense telescoped out. Screen black. Just dead. Nothing I did to it would get it going again.

Summary: I stick the Optio A40 in my right pocket and my cell phone in my left. It has become part of my daily equipment. As state commander of The American Legion I find myself in situations that I want to document all the time and share on facebook with friends.

I have to say it took a while to get used to the new features on the newer Pentax - but true to their pedigree the camera takes excellent...
Summary: This is a great little camera. I've had it for just a short time, but I just returned from a trip where I took 75 photos--using a number of the camera's features. All the photos were wonderful. I edited only 3 or 4, but that was because of unusual lighting conditions.
