Summary: I love this camera. It's my first DSLR and I have to say that at the beginning I got criticized because of the brand. Canon and Nikon are more popular brands but Pentax has nothing to be ashamed of. I'll keep it for as long as it works and when the time for a new one arrives, i think I'll stick with the brand.
Summary: This camera is wonderful. It is solidly built. I'm no pro, but I have a Pentax K50 and a Nikon D5100 which both perform well, but I prefer the feel of this camera. I took pictures of my daughter in the park with this recently and they turned out great.
Summary: I bought the K20D as a replacement for my K10D that was stolen from our home during a burglary. Everything about the next generation is very similar to my original K10D, but the pictures are even more crisp. I'm still learning everything about it, but really like it so far. We're taking it on our honeymoon to see the Northern Lights, and I'm hopeful that it will behave and we'll get some great pics!
Summary: I bought this camera used and I have been very satisfied with it so far. It came pretty well complete except for one lens cover. A minor thing. I'm still learning the camera, but what I like most is that I can use an 80X200 telephoto lens that I had for my old Pentax 35mm film camera. It works well. Even the auto focus works with the old telephoto lens. I'm quite satisfied.
Ruggedly functional: for those who love photography
27 January 2013
Summary: The K20D is a substantial, comfortable, quality digital camera body. It is a "photographer's camera," designed by those who know what is important when out in the field. The controls fall into convenient locations in the hand. It provides a comfortable and secure grip. In contrast with some other camera manufacturers, Pentax retained lens compatibility for its pre-digital lens mounts, providing a natural appeal for film SLR owners like me.
Pros: Functional with easy-to-use controls, easily operational with gloves. Excellent ergonomics, grippable texturized covering. Weather-sealed. Large optical viewfinder. Accepts ALL Pentax K and thread mount lenses. Excellent battery performance.
Cons: Awkward live video. Tedious menu hunting requiring numerous pages. Non-movable video screen. Somewhat dim optical viewfinder.
Summary: In terms of value for money this is probably one of the best Pentax bodies you can buy today and one of the best semi-pro DSLRs overall and I think it's the best so far in terms of ergonomics. All features that require quick access have dedicated buttons/switches. I like it even more than the newer K-7 and K-5 in this sense. Feature-wise everything is there except video, but not everybody needs video in an SLR.
A wonderful Purchase, Pentax K20d is simply the best DSLR I've ever owned.

Summary: WOW, ever since I switched over from Manual Slrs, to Auto focus, and then to Digital, I've used Pentax, firstly Because Pentax is the Only manufacturer to keep the same Mount, and update a little, so any lens you ever bought for any Pentax camera will work on This DSLR, nikon don't do that, Cannon don't do that... sony are newcomers.
