Pentax K20D

neocamera.com
29 September 2011
  • Summary: The 14.6 megapixels Pentax K20D is amazingly fitted with nearly every feature possible for a DSLR camera: stabilization, dust-reduction, weatherproofing, advanced customization, digital white-balance preview, depth-of-field preview and live-view. Among similarly-priced cameras, It is only outpaced in terms of continuous shooting speed by the 10 megapixels Canon EOS 40D and the 12 megapixels Sony Alpha A700 Sony Alpha A700 which shoot at 6.5 FPS and 5 FPS respectively.
  • Pros: Excellent retention of details at all ISO, Quite accurate metering, Excellent focusing speed and accuracy, Fast and responsive, Built-in stabilization for all lenses, Durable weatherproof body, Innovative exposure modes & program line, Digital white balance preview, Extremely flexible image parameters, Customizable auto ISO, In-camera RAW conversion, Excellent ergonomics, Large viewfinder
  • Cons: Yellow color shift at ISO 3200 and 6400, Poor white-balance under artificial light, Image parameter increments too wide, Below average battery life, Sealed body means doors are harder to open

  • Conclusion: Pentax K20D digital system camera I have put the bar quite high for the Pentax K20D. It should surpass the K10D, a camera that I like a lot. Luckily Pentax have not let me down. The best of the K10D has been preserved, and Pentax have added some nice extras. The basic concept is outstanding; a solid, weatherproof, affordable DSLR camera offering possibilities and specifications that also meet the requirements of the demanding photographer.

Pentax K20D review

expertreviews.co.uk
8 October 2008
  • Excerpt: If there's one brand that seems to instinctively cater for both the enthusiast and student it's Pentax, so it comes as little surprise to see the company upgrade its popular top-of-the-range 10-megapixel K10D. Although the headline feature is the 14.6-megapixel Cmos sensor, in almost every other area the K20D can be viewed as a subtle advance on its predecessor.

14.6-megapixel SLR with all the bells and whistles

Good Gear Guide.au
11 August 2008
  • Summary: There is a lot to like about the Pentax K20D. It produces some of the crispest, sharpest pictures of any camera in its class. It also has a stack of features, including live view and sensor-based stabilisation. Some users will want a faster burst mode or better live view implementation. Nonetheless, this is a great option for enthusiasts.
  • Pros: Sharp 14.6-megapixel images, dust reduction, sensor-based stabilisation, live view
  • Cons: Live view needs some work, noise performance not quite as good as some other units, burst mode slower than some competing models

Digital Camera Magazine

  • Summary: The K20D’s controls aren’t elegant or efficient, but the images seem more ‘natural’ and less ‘digital’ than its rivals. It has some clever and effective features like dynamic range extension and dust alert. Flawed but with sparks of sheer brilliance. I have only had the camera 2 days so it will take a while to fully explore the rich feature set implimentation, but the out of the camera .JPG's I am getting under various lighting conditions and ISO settings, is superior in...

Pentax K20D Review

LetsGoDigital
24 January 2013

  • Pros: solidna budowa korpusu, wiele przycisków i kółek, przyzwoita ostrość obrazu
  • Cons: spore szumy i słaba dynamika obrazu
