Excerpt: Last week, boss got a new digital SLR camera . This is the Pentax K200D. I am fortunate enough to be the first one to use it. I was assigned by him to do a fieldwork and because he wants to see the product of this camera , and so he let me use it in the assigned task. I have seen the nice photo that I took with this camera . It has a 10.2 megapixels that’s why the product is really high quality. I remember that I was walking to take photos of a site.
Summary: Still go a soft spot for this camera, and its getting used een more now I have the k5II (I'm feeling braver about using the k200d on bike rides, and walks and with out being sacrificial about it I just feel braver.) In good light it takes very pleasing shots. Just bought a 18-55 WR lens so this will be my day to day camera and remains a handy back up to the k5II I also really like the Fn button that gives head start into some of the settings.
Pros: Sturdy, WR, simple operation, awesom ergonomics, second LCD screen, AA bateries
Summary: Pros * Beginner Setting [For those unfarmiliar w/ SLRS] * Advanced Settings [For those very familiar] Cons * Heavy weight * Hard to set in certain lighting [Just like most DSLRS] Overall, It takes good photos. My picture quality is really dependent on the lens I use. In the same setting, the more money + better the lens- greater the photo quality [generally].
Summary: My daughter had this very Pentax. I used hers while visiting and was pleased with the pictures. I have other Pentax lenses so buying this Pentax body was a no brainer. I'm very satisfied with the camera and its 10,000 functions. I'll probably just use 5 or so. Great value in photography.
Summary: Years ago I had a Pentax K1000 SLR camera, used it for over 20 years. Decided to buy another Pentax and get a digital, part of my decision was made on the fact that Pentax lenses are supposed to be interchanageable with all Pentax cameras. I ordered the camera, and tried using my old lenses on it.
Summary: A bit pricey, and worth it. It is heavy, but to me that indicates a great compact design that just feels right, but would suggest the optional battery grip for a better feel. Best of all takes great photos and very flexible.
Summary: I had my K200 for about 18 Months and have over 50k exposures and I can say it does hunt (trying to focus) on some shots where there are too many reference points, it depends on your f-stop, the buffer speed is slow and yes it is the noise reduction feature, this camera is not so good at night shots but overall its one of the best for unique features like, water, dust resistant and AA battery use.
Excerpt: I just finished a photoshoot today and I have to say, I am very impressed w/ the K200D w/ DA 50-200 lens! When the shoot was over, I reviewed the images, and they are crisp and clean. I've had this camera for just over a year now and I cannot be happier. Yes, I do want the K7 or KX, but unless the KX gets a battery grip, I'm not buying it.
