Summary: After struggling to keep my beloved 35mm Canon Elan7 film camera I had to relent to purchasing my first digital slr and ended up purchasing a Pentax K10D. Knowing nothing about digital cameras I was surprised to realize that this camera was not as expected when I first held it in my hands. But now I am thrilled at the challenge of learning and bonding with it as a photographer. It is not a camera for the novice.
Summary: I'm loving this camera. I can use my old lenses from my Pentax K1000 and all of my other accessories as well. It takes wonderful pictures. 10.2 is not the state of the art, but it looks wonderful to me. After reading the manual, I am experiencing a bit of a learning curve about how to use this new technology, but after that, all of my old knowledge fits in well. I'm having a great time.
Summary: I was looking for a good deal on a DSLR when I found this deal. I have been using Pentax cameras for many years and like the brand, so the deal on this model was too good to pass on, the Pentax K10D, and lenses were just what I wanted and at the right price. It has it look and feel of a 35mm film camera, with the advantages of a digital camera. It is a great camera to learn digital photography with. I would not hesitate to purchase another in the future.
Summary: I LOVE my new camera so much! It is like brand new camera. My pictures are beautiful! I did research and I know that I made the best choice for my needs! It's easy to operate. The pictures are crisp and clear and the colors are vibrant! I love this camera!
Summary: "Buy the Canon XTi, Nikon D80 or Sony Alpha 100, and you'll get a terrific camera. " "Hiram Grant" I'm sure that is an ACCURATE statement Hiram, however I have a bushel basket full of K-mount lenses that I have been collecting since the 1960's and I thought Pentax was my best option.. I have a K-1000 that is in perfect working order and with the exception of some of the Paint missing it could be mistaken for a new one.. I still use it for B&W film photography.
Summary: I have had Pentax Camera's for so long. Started with a Pentax K1000, then up-graded to the Digital Mode with a Pentax K100D DSLR. Little did I know, that Pentax decided to dis-continue this model. I've had the K100D for more than 6 yrs. and it has never, ever let me down. I've added 4 different Lens's, since then. Pentax camera's, to me, can be the best and keep up with Nikon & Cannon. All the reviews that I've read about this camera have been very good.
Summary: My first camera was a Pentax K1000 35mm. I loved the K1000 and I still shoot with it, but I wanted to add digital to my photographic arsenal so I bought the K10D. I was at first a little apprehensive about buying a 10.2mp camera. But as I started shooting I realized that this was a serious camera; especially for a manual photographer. 1. Image quality - top notch 2. controls are intuitive- all manual controls are external dedicated buttons/wheels. 3.
Love this camera,it is so rugged and can handle tough challenges
