Re-utilize your older Pentax Lenses and any other Pentax lenses you have.

Summary: Great camera, got it to re-utilize my older Pentax lenses. Takes great pictures and writes them to SD card, here is where there's a small dislike, the write to the card could be faster. Suggest using rechargeable NIMH batteries, to take many many pictures and having fun doing it. Easy to configure and the shake reduction is great, a feature many others do not have. Have older Pentax lenses and want to migrate to digital, where here's your chance.
Summary: Even by today's standards this is a great camera. I appreciate the flexibility of being able to use a variety of AA battery's. The flexibility is what sold me on this camera. This camera does a great job in bridging the old with the new. You can still use old manual lenses and take advantage of the anti-shake feature.
Summary: It indeed is an old camera body to use it now, but if you want an affordable DSLR to learn photography, this is still an excellent camera. even though it's only 6.1mp, Megapixel isnt everything about image's quality. Sharpness is determined by the lens, Pentax is known to have it's rich in color, and most importantly, person's skill is what makes beautiful picture :D
Excerpt: I am one of those people who research the heck out of something before I buy it, if its going to cost me more than 250.00 USD. I researched DSLRs for about 30 days before deciding to go with the Pentax K100D. I purchased it about 2-3 years ago when it was new to the market. One of the thing that appeal to me the most is the ability to use every lense Pentax has ever made with it.
Excerpt: The Pentax K100D is a wonderful beginning slr camera. It is a very easy camera to learn on. You will get amazing results from this camera. The best part about it is the price. For a dslr this camera is very affordable. The Pentax K100D has many features. It has image stabilization built right in. Which is very important for low light shooting. It will help you achieve sharp photos. The Pentax K100D is compatibly with many different lenses.
If this camera had a finger, I'd put a ring on it.

Excerpt: I purchased the Pentax K100D camera after having the 35mm version for years. I wanted something that would give me the same quality, could also let me see the pictures as I'm taking them. My kids are active and have activities like indoor soccer games, dance competitions, and cheerleading competitions. They're all fast-paced and have variable lighting conditions.Translation: With film pictures, I never knew how it'd come out until I got them developed.
Excerpt: I bought this camera about 5 years ago. I bought it from amazon.com for about $450 for body only (it was a brand new camera line then). I find that this camera has a plethora of amazing features like 6 piont multi focus, K-Mount, auto focus, and great battery life. One of the main deciding factors for me to buy this camera was that I could use all of my pre-existing K-mount compatible lenses from my 35mm shooting days for this camera too! I saved $$$ in lenses alone!
