Excerpt: I purchased the white version of this camera from Amazon several months ago. When I first opened the box, I was pleased with the look and feel of the camera. It was larger than I thought it would be, which I was happy about, because I don't like a dinky camera. It's a very sharp looking camera with its glossy white finish, and the grips are placed exactly right for a perfect grip. It feels good in your hands. The camera definitely has some flaws.
Summary: I love this camera, I still use it, it's fun easy to use, fast, in expensive, BUT... There's that word again, Pentax makes some awesome gear. Period. There is no disputing that. The problems are more around the ease of getting what you want. If you want lenses or a flash, they simply don't have the selection of Canikon or the distribution channels.
Summary: This was my first DSLR, and I've got to say it's not a bad little camera. Love the fact that it's got a white body, I get comments all the time about it. Though the quality of some of the photos are lacking a bit, and for a few hundred more I could have gotten something really awesome. All in all I love it and use it all the time, but I'm going to upgrade soon.
Summary: I have been searching for the best camera for my needs for more than 8 years. I have been using Olympus and Fuji Point & Shoots but kept wanting more. I need a good low light camera, adjustable flash, and low/no shutter lag and quick recycle...I want to take decent shots for parties and weddings. I thought since prices are dropping now would be a good time to "reluctantly" go SLR.
Summary: Ok, I am going to balance this a little. I had a Nikon D40, loved it, but got stolen. I saw this deal on deals2buy.com to get this pentax (plus the 50mm-200mm lens) at $560+ through the Dell website. Due to all the rave positive reviews of the k-x, I bought it! In fact, I think a reviewer actually said say that he "upgraded" from his D40 to this, so I thought wow, great price! $560 for a DSLR bundle with 50-200mm lens! The Nikon 50mm-200mm costed me $200 alone!
Summary: I got this camera for my husband for Christmas because he said he wanted it and because we were expecting our first baby and wanted a high quality camera to capture our first memories. The camera takes really nice quality photos but only half of the time. The other half of the time, the photos are blurry. We've had it over a year now and in the beginning it was great with indoor photos and almost brightened up the pictures more so than a compact digital camera would.
Summary: I ordered this highly rated Pentax DSLR and thought I would go with the red model because the pictures looked cool on the website. When I received the camera, it was definitely not red. The pictures make it look like a bright red, but it is more of a coral/pink color. I am shipping this camera back (Beach Camera was very easy to deal with on the return) and will be ordering a black one.
Great Camera! wish I could get a defect free one though...

Summary: The Pentax K-x was my first SLR, and I got it after a lot of research in which emphasis was on compactness, image quality and features/ease of use, and a huge plus for the K-x was that it accepts standard AA batteries. The K-x did not disappoint in all categories, and if anything proved to meet or exceed my expectations especially in low light shooting with extended exposures.
