Excerpt: Anything I want from a DSLR after a Nikon FE and a Minolta X700. Color respect is very nice. May be I will forget the beautiful skies formerly given by the Kodakrome 64. Autofocus in LiveView mode is extremely accurate. Problems: Shutter is noisy. And the worse : autofocus accuracy is uncertain with the DA 35 mm macro limited. Lots of shots are blurred. A pity given the high potential of the censor and lens.
Excerpt: tough to be negative about this very capable camera. Coming off a k10 which i gave to my son. lighter and easier to handle. I do miss the wheel in the front. As i find working the wheel in the back a bit ackward. Image quality is great!
Summary: I checked many on line reviews. For my purposes the K-x sounded fairly equal with the Nikon D-5000 (both sounded like they produce a better picture than the Canon T1i). Both cameras had a handful of negative reviews and handfuls of positives. The K-x won out due to price combined with the fact my Pentax K-1000 lasted 20 years before needing repairs and I have lenses from it that will work with the K-x.
Summary: Finally a DSLR that will allow me to utilize all my old Pentax screw mount lenses and adapt easily to astronomical telescopes. I've been using Sony point & shoots ever since I went digital. Being limited to 30 sec. exposures, I've missed that old Bulb Setting. Now I can do long exposures again to capture lightning, night scenes, and astro subjects. Previously DSLRs were just to expensive and seemed to doom all my old equipment to the scrap heap.
Pros: Bulb setting, Lens Mount, Many features at low cost
Summary: I am a photography student and a painter. This DSLR is mainly used to take high quality photos of my paintings. I love this cameras ease of use and high quality components. I get clear shots without glare and very high quality high resolution down loadable images. I would recommend this camera for any Photo Enthusiast!
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, High ISO Performance, Large Clear LCD, Quiet, Tilt /swivel lcd
Summary: My daughter bought this after I purchased one in red for my wife. She's gotten accolades from photography teachers on her shots and has been asked to do still album shots for small bands. The quality of the images is fantastic and it's great for a beginner to moderate dslr user.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, High ISO Performance
Summary: I LOVE THIS CAMERA! It takes great pics, it's easy to use and I love being able to change the filter right on the camera to make photos look like a painting or look black and white and only show red on a flower etc. I really think this camera will grow with me as I improve my photography skills.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, High ISO Performance
Summary: I think this camera is a great buy for first time dslr camera users. It is easy to use, controls are relatively easy to navigate, and the interchangeable lens with any pentax lens is a great feature to have. I also like the various color options that make your camera stand out from other dslrs. The camera takes AA batteries, which I love! I use this camera every and anywhere I go. It takes amazing shots!
Pros: Easy To Use, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization
Summary: I chose this camera because I can use it with older lenses I bought for my film slr. So far I have only used it on auto with the standard lens, but I am very pleased with the results. It is an excellent, intuitive, easy to use camera. No doubt if I were more sophisticated, it would be limiting, but so far I am delighted.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Large Clear LCD, Very intuitive
