Summary: For a first DSLR this is a great camera! Its direct competitor in my opinion would be the T1i. However with a much lower price point and very similar features, this seems to be the better buy. Overall it looks great, works very well and is lots of fun!
Summary: This is my first DSLR; my experience includes years of shooting film SLRs and digital point-and-shoots. After a month of shooting a few hundred photos I'm pleased with the K-x. The kit (body + 18-55mm and 50-300mm DA lenses) is a great package for under $700.
Summary: After a LOT of research, I settled on the K-x. The price, features and ease were what attracted me to it. And I haven't been disappointed so far. Clicked about a 200 pictures this week, battery life is still full.
Summary: I am getting amazingly strong action photos at little league games. The focus is solid. The images are outstanding. One of my photographers shoots with a Nikon D5000 with a 75/300 VR lens. The photos off the Pentax are as strong if not stronger. You get everything for about $700.
Summary: The first one Amazon sent me had some coatings missing on the smaller lens. Both lenses in the second kit looked used (judging by the threading in the back of the lens), but at this point I did not care as long as the camera worked. Amazon returns are great!
Summary: I got my K-x early December and shot like a million pictures already. Image quality is superb and make sure you get yourself some quality filters, the IR remote control and a good quality tripod to make it even better.
Summary: I have experience using film SLRs as well as a Nikon DSLR, and I've owned a few Canon compact cameras. After quite a bit of online research, I chose this camera to be my first DSLR, and I am very, very pleased with my decision.
Summary: This, being my first SLR doesn't leave me with a lot of material to reference for a comparison. But from my perspective, I have so far enjoyed very much my time with this camera. I have already surprised myself with the results and look forward to growing creatively with my k-x.
Summary: I am very pleased with the Pentax K-x DSLR camera. The build quality is solid. The image quality (particularly at high iso settings) is also great. HD video recording and Live View are nice additions for an entry level DSLR. It has some really fun features like HDR and cross processing.
Summary: I am absolutely thrilled with this package. At current pricing, I am convinced it is the best deal out there for an entry-level DSLR - and it has more features than most people could possibly use in a lifetime.
