Excerpt: The one thing I have to say about this camera is how easy it is to use. This is my first DSLR camera and I have to say I was quite nervous on how I'd use this camera considering how much I paid for it... The camera has a lot of features that other DSLR cameras in this price range doesn't include, in-body lens stabilization was the biggest one for me. Also the sensor they use in this camera produce quality that is found in the "next step up" DSLR cameras.
Excerpt: The Pentax K-x is my first Digital SLR. I give it 5 stars because of the ease of use. It takes great photos that I am very pleased with. The camera is light weight and I love the neckstrap it came with. The auto setting takes amazing photos and I can't wait to learn all the features that are available. I have been using the Pentax K-x for about 6 months now.
Excerpt: This camera is feature packed and has way better specs than most cameras in its class. If you do a side by side comparison you will see that the K-x is clearly the best choice. And it comes is many fun colors!
Excerpt: This is my first dslr camera and I must say I am impressed. It is super simple to use. It is also great for expert camera lovers too, with all of the extra options it has. I do love the fact that it still works with all the previos pentax lenses. Great camera, great price, all around a must have dslr camera.
Excerpt: I purchased the white version of this camera from Amazon several months ago. When I first opened the box, I was pleased with the look and feel of the camera. It was larger than I thought it would be, which I was happy about, because I don't like a dinky camera. It's a very sharp looking camera with its glossy white finish, and the grips are placed exactly right for a perfect grip. It feels good in your hands. The camera definitely has some flaws.
Excerpt: I purchased this camera because my little point and shoot was missing out on so many of my son's first moments with its slow shutter speed. With the Pentax K-x I no longer have this problem. I have read the manual and know that it has a lot of awesome features, many that I am still figuring out. I recently took this camera on our family vacation to Disney World. When you take pictures with the characters there is also a professional taking pictures.
Excerpt: I knew nothing about fancy cameras when I bought this Pentax in white. I was nervous about the color when I ordered it, but in person it's lovely. They should really take some better pictures of their own camera to show off the pearly white color better. It's not as garish as it looks on those online stock photos. The camera is really simple to use for an entry level user (me) and takes wonderful pictures without me even really knowing what I'm doing yet. We have...
Excerpt: I received this camera as a gift for Christmas, and I must say that it was the best gift that I have received in a long while. The outside of the camera is seems to be very durable and well made. The paint seems like it might chip easily, however, this is a minor detail. The pictures are amazing. The camera has various filters built in which creates a fun and creative experience for the user. The price on the camera is fairly inexpensive for the quality of the product.
Excerpt: I am an amateur photographer and not all that technical. I mainly photograph places and people. I bought my Pentax K-x DSLR in black with the 18-55mm kit lens from Amazon about six months ago. I paid about $520. Before this purchase, I owned a Pentax K100 and had been using it for bout three years. There were some things that I were dissatisfied with in the Pentax K100 body and hoped that this K-x would be an improvement.
Excerpt: When my original 1957 Asahi Pentax shutters got too worn, I sold it to a collector and bought a used KX with 55/1.8 lens and a mount adapter K to continue using my screw mount lenses until I could replace them with bayonet lenses. It worked hard for me, and it always worked. I traded it on an SF-1 when I was a stringer taking sports for a newspaper and discovered that my KX did not have the winder drive on the bottom. To this day, I regret not keeping it.
Pros: All mechanical. Batteries only required for meter needle. Full view viewfinder including both shutter speed and aperture.
