Summary: Well....The Pentax K-x. After much review I decided to get this camera. It was well worth it. I have had 4 point-and-shoot cameras, and after my son decided to "manually" close the lens by pushing on it (thus breaking the AF gear teeth) on my last one I told my wife that I wanted to get a "good" camera. Our son is 4 so we have a lot of photos to take yet. Without getting too wordy I will say a couple things about the camera. Auto shoots great pictures by itself.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, High ISO Performance
Excerpt: A lot for a few hundred bucks! Just the right size for my hands, and not overly heavy, and perfect with the Tamron 70-200/2.8. Excellent ISO range, world class compared to the other Pentax DSLRs, including the K-7. Decent kit lens, too!
Pros: High ISO performance
Cons: Not WR, a bit small VF (not ideal for glasses)
Summary: I purchased the K-x to get back to SLR from the point&shoot digital. The lenses I used with the ME Super interchange with reduced automatic functions, but they work excellent in manual. I am still learning all the options and features on the K-x, but I am extremely satisfied with the camera.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, High ISO Performance, Large Clear LCD
