Summary: I was attracted by all the positive reviews in Photo magazines and online photo websites. After owning and using the K-X Pentax camera for about 90 days I am extremely happy with it. Why pay more for other more expensive brands which offer fewer features.
Excerpt: Anything I want from a DSLR after a Nikon FE and a Minolta X700. Color respect is very nice. May be I will forget the beautiful skies formerly given by the Kodakrome 64. Autofocus in LiveView mode is extremely accurate. Problems: Shutter is noisy.
Pentax K-x Digital SLR - Using non-auto focus Vivitar lenses
1 August 2010
Summary: I'm still learning how to use this camera. I had an old Super-program Pentax 35mm, moved to digital point-n-shoot, now the K-x. I have used my new K-x for landscapes only and have been on two trips so far. I think the resolution and clarity is very good, and the features and options are fantistic!
Summary: I bought this as a back up for the K-7. I shoot wildlife only. I know nothing about any other photography. But i find myself reaching for this sometimes. It is really an excellent camera for the price. I also want to comment on the excellent sensor in the camera.
Summary: I checked many on line reviews. For my purposes the K-x sounded fairly equal with the Nikon D-5000 (both sounded like they produce a better picture than the Canon T1i). Both cameras had a handful of negative reviews and handfuls of positives.
Excerpt: tough to be negative about this very capable camera. Coming off a k10 which i gave to my son. lighter and easier to handle. I do miss the wheel in the front. As i find working the wheel in the back a bit ackward. Image quality is great!
Excerpt: The viewfinder - excellent information, really a joy to use. While not the largest or brightest Pentax ever, the KX excells in focusing: the image pops into focus better than with any other Pentax I've used.
Summary: I received my camera and in a few minutes I was out shooting pictures and HD videos. I had went online and read up on the camera weeks leading up to the purchase, so I had some knowledge of the camera's setting. It is a great camera for the price.
Summary: The Camera is by far the best starter level DSLR on the market. Having used both the Cannon Rebel and the Nikkon D3000, I can say that the Pentax is the best. The only complaint I have is that the auto focus, particularly up close, takes forever to work.
