• Does K-5 3.5mm audio jack power an external microphone

  I'm new to this DSLR and I am purchasing an external microphone today. I am looking at then Nikon ME-1 microphone that is powered by the camera. Can anyone tell me whether the K-5 3.5mm audio jack provides power to aan external mic? Some mics require a small battery.
