Excerpt: Excellent video quality, way beyond the Nikon D5200 I had been using. Accurate and pleasing color, especially on green vegetation which had previously been a disappointment with Nikon and Canon DSLRs. Audio quality with an external microphone (I'm using the Rode Videomic Pro which puts out a strong signal) is very good, so much better than the erratic automatic gain control and hiss of the D5200. Battery power is good.
Pros: Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Good Image Quality, Large Clear LCD
Excerpt: I am an amateur videographer and I use this camera mainly for doing documentaries, interviews, weeding's and special outdoor events. This camera coupled to a Voigtlander Nokton 17.mm f/0.95 lenses is a show stopper. When compared to Nikon, and Canon similar models and lenses the price to performance ratio is amazing, the GH3 will surpass in many areas to other models like the 7D, D7100, among others.
Pros: Easy To Use, Good Image Quality, High ISO Performance, Low Light, Quiet, Tilt /Swivel LCD
Excerpt: I am really happy with this camera. I changed from a Canon so the physical and menu layouts took some getting used to but it was not a big problem. The lens selection is quite limited but you can always get adapters if you want to use canon, nikon, or Leica lenses.
Stiils:
The burst mode is quite fast so it is great for shooting action sports or anything that moves quickly.
Pros: Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Good Image Quality, Large Clear LCD, Tilt /Swivel LCD
Excerpt: I'm a serious videographer. It's a huge part of my life, and I wanted a camera to match my aspirations so I researched for nearly 4 months on which camera to buy. I was filming in Jerusalem at the time and I wanted one camera for all my projects—personal and professional. Believe me, I wanted it to do just about everything—studio work, field work, everything news related, any special event, war zones—you name it.
Pros: Easy To Use, Good Image Quality, Great battery life, High ISO Performance, Large Clear LCD, Light, Lightweight, Professional, Tilt /Swivel LCD, Versatile
Excerpt: I had a hacked GH2 for a while after coming to Panasonic way after trying Nikon then Canon DSLR's. I had actually kept saying I bet the GH3 would be the right package for me. I mostly get hired to film music video's locally and work on documentary work as well. So I had needed features like the headphone jack and wanted the 1080p 60fps. The ALL-I high bit-rate is gorgeous and I had no complaints with the footage from my first hired shoot with the GH3.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, High ISO Performance, Tilt /Swivel LCD
Excerpt: Use to owned a canon 60d, sold it and bought two gh3's. Best move ever. I'm very disapointed with Canon. They put out a lot of camera last year and no major improvement. Panasonic has been listening to the fillmakers/video guys. Best thing about this camera apart from the picture quality, CONTINUES SHOOTING, 60 FPS FULL HD, BATTERY LIFE, HEADPHONE JACK, AUTO FOCUS, ETC... Plan to buy a 3rd camera, maybe might go for the 4k lol!
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Good Image Quality, High ISO Performance, Large Clear LCD, Quiet
Excerpt: I've been shooting professionally for almost 40 years. This is my first Micro Four Thirds camera, and there is a lot to love. Just yesterday, I had two new lenses delivered from B&H. Day before yesterday, I used the GH3 extensively without a hitch.Next day, the camera will not power up. It is dead.Panasonic runs a tortured telephone support system. The guy who eventually took my call was completely clueless and distracted.
Pros: Compact Size, Small Lenses
Cons: Excessive Video Codecs, Poor Service And Repair, Premature Failure
Summary: This is my first mirrorless dslr camera and it takes professional video and pics. I have always used prosumer camcorders and loved them, until now. The gh3 has superb depth of field as well as an excellent film quality. This will become my number 1 go to camera from now on for all of my filming be it documentaries, weddings or films.
Excerpt: I finally pulled the trigger on the GH3 just before Christmas 2013. I have the Panasonic G1, Gh2 and now the GH3. I shoot landscape and architectural fine art photography in Europe (I'm American). First, this camera is a big step up from the GH2. Faster autofocus, dynamic range and a professional feel with the optional battery pack. I does not incude focus peaking but that is NOT a priority to me. And of course the video on is without doubt is sublime.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Good Image Quality, High ISO Performance, Large Clear LCD, Quiet, Tilt /Swivel LCD
Cons: Poor Image Stabilization, Stabilization Lens Based
