Summary: This camera will blow you away. Takes excellent photos, the video is fantastic with great detail, the audio is pretty clean with hardly any hiss or none! Auto focus is pretty darn fast too, plenty of options on the menu, it feels realy comfortable in my hands, and is made very well. Would I recommend this camera? Yes I would, you will not be disappointed.
Summary: One of my best purchases ever. I bought this used primarily for video, because of Panasonic's reputation for video. Took me a while before I started to do videos seriously at the gigs where I do still photography - but I now have got into the swing of things, and am shooting a lot of video - some of which are stunningly good in quality. The sound using only the camera's internal mics is good enough that a regular taper asked if it really was from the internal mics.
Summary: I did a lot of research before deciding on this camera. The video it takes is fantastic, but you really should get a wide angle lens or adapter. Not only are the images fantastic, the fit/finish is great. If you need an all-in-one camera that shoots fantastic pictures and video this is a top choice. If money is no object, get a GH3 or GH4. If you are looking to spend less than $1000, I highly recommend the G6.
Summary: This is actually being posted by John's wife, lol. I ordered and purchased this camera just a few days ago, had it shipped next day delivery because I was at the tail end of a visit with my daughter and I needed a good camera. I am not a professional photographer at all, I don't know how to use any of the bells and whistles that come with this camera (and there are many) but basically the Panasonic Lumix G6 is amazing!
Summary: I've owned the GF1 and GX1 version. I've also used both the GF2 and GF3 model. My personal favorite is the GF1, but the ISO capabilities just doesn't cut it anymore. Now the GF5 is my main camera. It's small, inconspicuous and I believe is one of the most underrated Micro 4/3rds body. Pros: - Extremely easy to get the perfect exposure. - Coupled with the 20mm f1.7 and the 25mm f1.4, produces great photos even for people without photography experience. - Light and small.
Summary: Outstanding and extremely compact camera which takes micro four thirds interchangeable lenses. Probably some of the most sophisticated software in photography today. Extremely compact, and very versatile. I gave my Canon Rebel series camera along with 5 lenses to my son, and have replaced it with this camera. Wonderful ability to customize macros for favorite functions, and includes numerous optimized settings for specific subjects, such as baby pictures.
