Summary: I enjoy taking pictures as a hobby. I used to own a Canon Rebel XS, and loved it! Except, it was too bulky for me. So, I sold it and purchased this Panasonic. The pictures don't compare at all to the Canon. Not as good. Very noticeable difference. Maybe I'm not using it correctly (I stick with the auto settings). But, after constant bad results, I actually sold it back to Amazon (they have a great buyback program).
Summary: I had to take this camera back as the 14-140 lens is very noisy. It makes a constant whirring/churning noise and it didn't seem possible to switch off whatever it was doing. This noise is audible when in a quiet room and as such is picked up on video recordings. I tested the 14-42 lens and it does not suffer from this problem, it does however make a clicking sound. I can only guess that these noises are created by the gyroscope in the lenses.
Summary: Really disappointed, especially with flash, thought it would pop up automatically when both in low light and in intelligent auto mode. Actually thought camera was faulty but camera repairs had a look and said its not designed to pop up automatically, manual button has to be pressed which is a real pain. Wish Id gone for the DSLR I'd fancied and not made compactness a priority.
