Nice camera for it's size and extreme zoom capability.

Summary: I like this camera but had to return it due to problems. This was purchased as an open box, so I can't complain about the camera itself. I have a large format camera and this was purchased (due to the price) as a glove box camera for emergencies. Nice pictures until Zoomed to the max, where flaws could be seen. As I stated, this was an open box so I can't comment on a "new" item.
Summary: I love love loved this little camera and it served me well for almost three years. Then it got dust on the sensor. So I learned from YouTube how to take it apart and remove the dust. I congratulated myself on being so handy. Three months later, dust on the sensor again. Fixed it again. Three months later, dust on the sensor again. Groan. I replaced it with a different digital pocket camera from Panasonic. I loved it a lot but it had a fatal flaw.
Summary: I have compared this camera with another Panasonic that I own (Panasonic DMC-FH1), which I got from Amazon last year for $89.00. After taken the same pictures with both the ZR3 and the FH1 using the iAuto on both as well, I was surprised to see that the pictures from the FH1 were better. The 25mm from the ZR3 and the 8x zoom is nice compared to the 28mm and 5x zoom of the FH1, but the indoor shoots from the ZR3 were inferior to the FH1.
First impressions: impressive video quality, poor low light photos

Summary: I received this camera three days ago, and this is my first impressions: Pros: 1- The video recording is awesome, even in low light 2- Outdoor photos are very nice and the colors are great 3- the optical zoom is good 4- the design of the camera very good Cons: 1- Very very poor image quality in low light, so if you want this camera for indoor shots i'd advise you to stay away, because i bought it for indoor usage and i'm disappointed now.
Summary: The Panasonic Lumix ZR3 camera is a good camera. I tested earlier a Canon SD-1400 and the Panasonic was a good improvement. Pictures will come in focus almost always in contrary to the Canon that has huge problems with the auto focus specially indoors. The camera size and ergonomics are just good. The camera is compact but not ultra-compact. It will still fit in a jeans pocket, but a little bit tighter.
