DUST catcher - STAY AWAY!!
1 March 2012
Summary: Nice little carry-around camera. But the lens is trapping dust on the inside, so it cannot be cleaned out with out taking it apart or sending it in for service. This happened in a few months of well-treated use. Panasonic should be doing something about this, but as far as I can tell, they aren't. STAY AWAY!
Summary: It's hard to believe that the dust can go into a point and shot camera. But it happened to my Panasonic DMC-ZR3 after one year warranty is over. A black dot appears in the center of the screen and picture. It is not useable anymore. I bought this camera one year ago from Amazon as my backup camera and my old camcorder replacement. I was a little bit disappointed for the photo quality after received it.
Summary: I bought this camera last year, after 10 days and without any reasons, some black dots appeared on all new pictures. I returned it to Amazon that sent me a new one. Same model & same problem after 4 months !! Now Amazon tells me I have to send it to some place in Texas to get it fixed by Panasonic. The thing is that I moved to Europe and so, sending it there is too expensive... I'm very disappointed because the camera never crashed on the floor. I really took care of it.
Do not buy this camera! Been discontinued for a reason

Summary: My friend and I each bought one of these cameras in summer 2010. Just over 12 months later (conveniently after the warranty expired) I noticed that my camera had dust spots on the sensor or inside the lens assembly, rendering the camera useless. Now get this - the same thing happened to my friend about a week later! After doing some googling, I found numerous complaints about dust getting inside the camera that cannot be removed.
Summary: When I was researching cameras, the Dmc-zr3 seemed like the perfect one for me. It has a high zoom and many features, and is small enough to carry in my pocket. So at first, I was very happy with this camera. But after about 10 months of use, I started seeing black spots in my photos. At first, I thought that this would go away if I cleaned the lens. However, after doing some research, I realized that dust has gotten into the lens and onto the sensor.
Summary: At first, I was really happy with this camera. Takes good pictures, easy to use, large display, lots of nice features, perfect size to carry around. After 11 months, I noticed dirt inside the lens that shows up on screen and on every picture I take. Yuck. Luckily, it was still under warranty so I sent it back to Panasonic and got a replacement (same model but refurbished). But the replacement was totally defective.
Summary: Every picture is bury. Using the auto or manual settings have no effect. Almost every picture is also over exposed. Received the camera a week after purchase. After a week of frustration and testing, we discovered that we can not return this terrible camera due to a 14 day return policy. Our old 5mp Olympus out performs this 14mp camera in every way. May take a sledgehammer to it do to the frustration of wasted money.

Summary: I bought this camera exactly 1 year ago, and it worked fine. I used to have a Sony Cybershot for many years, and I wanted to make a change. It was not as good as the Sony but the pictures were very good. Suddenly, two spots appeared on the camera, and they never went away. I did some research and I found out that is a problem with the CDC or Image Sensor. I called Panasonic Support but they said that they won't repair it.
Summary: I bought this camera for our trip to Hawaii that we took last week. When I got the camera I put it together, and snapped a few pictures to make sure it worked alright then put it away until our trip. It worked fine the first day. On the second day a black spot appeared in the upper center of my LCD screen. I tried to clean the lens with lens cleaner, but the spot remained.
Summary: I needed a camera to take with me to indoor events and for family pictures at home. I eventually decided to get this based on some reviews I read but later found out the flash is very weak. When I received it, the initial pictures looked ok, however, when I started taking flash shots indoors or with incandescent lighting present, the pictures came out extremely dim.
