Summary: This is my third Panasonic Lumix camera... I LOVE them. However I have a major issue with it. After about a year / year and half of regular usage, random black marks show up when using the video feature. It has happened with all three of my cameras so I just assumed I was misusing it.
Summary: I loved this camera for a year and a half. It took wonderful zoom pictures with vibration stabilization. Then floaters appeared in all the pictures and I learned that repairs would cost almost as much as a replacement camera. So I'm back to the drawing board looking for a good, pocket-sized camera.
Summary: Pro: Great photos, easy to use, small, easy download, overall very good. Con: Battery failed after 92 days on a 90 day warranty. Replaced at my cost, and failed again after a couple of months.
Summary: I wanted to like this camera after reading so many rave reviews about the Panasonic Lumix line. At this point I've tried what seems like every P&S digital camera known to man (except for a Fuji or Nikon). I've had a Kodak, Samsung, several Sonys and 3 Canons.
would never buy a camera that does not have a view finder

Summary: The problem with this camera is that in the light you can not see the screen. In the light the glare prevents even a hint of the picture that you want to snap from being previewed. The camera would be a heck of a lot better if it had a view-finder and a screen that could be seen outdoors.
Summary: i was buy a camera for get it a pictures to my sites but i think if some person want a camera have to buy not sheap cost but which he like even it's expensive but to be good quality and original with box with box original not without a box i think Panasonic good product i have a loyalty about that...
Excerpt: I bought the ZS8 as a "take everywhere" camera to accompany my GF1 on our trip to Greece. The ZS8 performed pretty well in P, A, S, M modes with ISO 100 and iExposure set to Low. This was my default setting for the camera most of the time, IIRC.

Summary: The camera initially came up to expectations. After some use, however, a tiny piece of material (a dust particle, possibly, became lodged inside the sealed lens unit - from an unknown source) and this creates a slight shadow when using the telephoto setting.
