Dust issue on sensor..beware!
K. Hansen, Amazon
21 January 2015
Summary: Beware of the dust bunnies...either learn to clean the sensor yourself, pay someone big bucks to clean it or get another camera. I love the quality of the photos, but it now has a dust spot... This makes for a very nasty situation, and Panasonic needs to clean up its act.
Summary: The camera is ok but the one star is for the terrible Panasonic tech support. First the printed manual is eliminated and then when I email for a problem answer I am told to call an 800 number. I call the 800 number I am told I would have to pay $7.00 for an answer. So, buyer beware!
Great photos until dust show up inside lens; very horrible service! Do not buy.

Summary: I have 2 of these Lumix DMC-ZS8 cameras. They take great photos until dust, within less than 6 months show up inside the lens and cannot be removed unless one take apart the camera. Extremely irritating!
Summary: The "one star" is for Panasonic customer service. The "DMC" line are decent cameras and this is the second one we purchased. The first one lasted four years then stopped working. I figured It just wore out so bought a new DMC-ZS8 which is basically a newer model.
Summary: This was my fourth Panasonic ultra-zoom camera. I wrote an earlier gushing review of the ZS6, and I've even had a couple of photo's in Panasonic's "Focus on Australia" (a competition for Lumix users there - I spend about four months a year working down-under). But this will be my last.
Summary: I couldn't wait to get a Lumix, but I guess not all Lumix models live up to the Lumix reputation. I got this after someone dropped my Canon Powershot and dented the lens so it wouldn't retract anymore. I figured it was time to trade up, but after a few weeks it was clear I had traded down.
Summary: After using this camera for about 1 year, dust started to appear in the pictures I took. For what I read it seems it's a problem in the fabrication facility. It only got worst and worst week after week.
Summary: I bought this camera in July 2011 and it takes excellent pictures. Recently it will not connect with the USB cable to my computer. I called Panasonic and they told me it was probably a defective cable. I bought a new one for approximately $10 including shipping.
Summary: Google this model to see how many users report dust entering the camera through the extended lens and ruining their photos. Some report bad dealings with warranty coverage. I did not bother trying. Finally the multiple dust blurs became too numerous and I have junked this camera.
